Thanks Billy, this one had me thinking for a bit 😅. I started off trying to make a video to diagnose a pretensioner problem, but decided to share this odd variable instead. The pretensioner had like 15 Mohms of resistance so it was faulty, but I didn't think it was as interesting TBH.

Airbag module bracket ground resistance. Be careful doing air bag testing with module unbolted from floorpan, most newer modules have impact and rollover sensor built in and potential to set off curtain airbags. I did a ton of retractors on these under warranty. The last few I replaced were sold as only a neutral colored replacement. It won't match the other side, colorwise.

I understand but they have shorting bars, plus VSS input is missing, airbag deployment-HIGHLY UNLIKELY! However, I don't really want to act as though I know everything, because trust me I do not! How do you suggest it be tested then my friend?

@@PaulysAuto . It all depends on what type of testing you are doing. When I had the pretensioner code it was normally high resistance or open dtc. If I remember correctly, Ford pinpoint test has you induce a short across connector at pretensioner/retractor side, then, re run test to see if a low resistance/short dtc sets. Kind've a go, no go test. It's nice to have sensor simulators or resistors to plug in as well.

my airbag light only comes on once in a while. does not blink stays solid, but the next time it wont be there. any idea? also, when i have my car on accesories (lets say waiting in the car with radio on), when i go to start my car. It wont start. nothing at all. ????
