For that car you use fuse 31 for the ELV. Yellow fuse with orange clip. I just did one and it threw me off as well. Luckily the chart was tucked into the fuse panel. I later found out there are three different fuse panels Mercedes uses and Autel only gives one example. Surprised it worked using the seat fuse. And yes Autel should include the instructions to reconnect the elv and fuse before trying the key.

Lol I found out about fuse 31 after waiting for a long time and wondering why the headrest motor hummed almost every time g box clicked. Luckily fusediagram was there so I moved it to fuse 31 then called Autel to confirm . They already knew about it. Still took a while to get password. Have used autels diagram many times with this model first thing I noticed it wasn't 7.5 amp fuse. Good to know it works in both places

excellent video. Just like life with worries and hiccup ( connect steering before starting and the new gas problem) I find people look after these expensive cars poorly. Fuel pump is lubricated/cooled by fuel, then people complain when pump fails. Good to see you go into uncharted territory with some confidence and Autel helpline ON SPEED DIAL..

As far as I know they cannot be rented and in a lot of states you need a locksmith license. Keyinnovations.com sells them. The company changed names

That's a really great video. Quick question please, after I've done Add key to E500 same car now the steering is locked doesn't release even with the original key prosses was done exactly same as yours. Do you think it's the ELV? If yes for programming emulator do you need to remove the EIS?

Steering lock probably failed, you can bang on it and see if it releases why cycling the key. An emulator will fix it, the EIS does not have to come out if you already have all the data and if the steering lock unlocks you can leave it in place unplugged.

Just programmed a spear key after all went successfully original stopped E350 2004. And spear was not operating. Couldn't figure out what was the issue until someone else removed the EIS. and car back to normal. Still they didn't let me know what they did! I believe they reprogrammed the original.

You cannot reprogram keys but they can come out of sync or the battery died.

It depends on the car. Most of the cars I have done it's easier in the car.
