Hey Zack, I actually found out that you went to the same high school I go to. I was watching upur video on the 98 ford escort and though back to the white one I worked on in school when you perfectly described the same car we used. I also noticed in the yearbook photo you used the instructors name for the class putting the icing on the cake. So, kinda cool to see that. Idk if this was here when you were still attending but there is now a Volvo 850 I believe that they have engine swapped with some LS motor in it. Anyway have a good day.

Zack, actually Toyota was involved in the development of this car. Porsche looked to Toyota to help them streamline the developmental and manufacturing processes.

Great video! Even though I’ll love to drive, but hate to own a Porsche. That was a second generation Taurus SHO, but great video!

These still have the IMS issue but yes doesn't happen nearly as often or at all. But the IMS is still there, but from 2009 987.2 they removed the IMS ...

The car market is over man. People want new car prices for their old cars I’m so over it

Used Boxters are bargains. Fun to drive, well-made, and reasonably priced. That's strange that the computer has to be reflashed after a power loss but the Germans have to guarantee jobs for the service department somehow.

Is the standard motor enough?
@bwofficial17762 күн бұрын
Yes. It may not be a track beast but it will still be fun to toss around on a back road.

The base engine (2.7 H6) has 50 less hp and a 5-speed vs the 3.4 and 6-speed in the “S”. So, it’s a decent engine, but a different experience. I have a 987.1 Cayman S, and the 295 hp is just about perfect.

does not have a 2006 design to me! definitely ahead of its time!

That's because porsche's design language never really changes that much.

Is the 3.2 more reliable than 3.4?
@TwoDollarGararge2 күн бұрын
As far as I can tell, they all suffer from bore.Scoring , It's not if but when Simply maintenance and keeping on top of it will delay that inevitable death.
@TDogCA2 күн бұрын
Reliability is similar. The 3.2 might also have the gen-2 IMS bearing, which is unfortunately the most likely to fail. Having said that, the overall failure rate for really overblown on the interwebs and mostly applies to rarely-driven garage queens.

@@TwoDollarGararge that's really sad 😭😢😢 I'll probably still have to go for one of these cars eventually because they're so good value. I wish these problems did not exist!

How is it possible for a car to forget it has heated seats? Leave it to the Germans to make a car where that pointlessly runs through a computer instead of just hardwiring it.

You had me that this was is an amazing car until you didn’t show me an engine…😂 What a disastrous vehicle to own and trying to DIY. This is by far the worst car to own and operate.
