LOVE my 07 classic!! One year before all the pickups turned into luxury sedans lol dropping in an lq4 very soon, great work/travel/project/off road/cruising truck it's my favorite truck of all time.

@@devantejohnson8089 somewhat true, mine is an 07 classic so it falls into the old body style, 07 new body onwards when they started making them more beefy and wider looking you gotta watch out for oil leaks on the 4.8 & 5.3 engines, butt the previous gen is great

Thanks for the overview and review...I just bought the 06 Z71...Identical...I see you posted this in 2017 I hope all is well with you and yours...It's a different world from back then..:(...I just drove past a used car dealer and wanted it...It's almost impossible to find Chevy trucks from this year... UPDATE, 1 YR 3 MONTHS AND 17000 MILES LATER and she purrs like a kitten...Changed the oil, got a busted windshield, but; the AC and 4X4 worked AWESOME...no snow this year but two blizzards last year; 4 wheel auto is the STUFF! As a Contractor for over 30 years, I've owned MANY fords and too many Dodges.... By far; this is the best truck I've ever owned. The Cateye is the perfect truck!

Dustin T is it common to have a engine whine between 1st and 2nd? I watched your 2007-13 silverado sierra problems/complaints and you mentioned a clunky transmission so i guess its normal?

My 99 ext cab 4x4 has over 280k on it. Trans went at 270k ish. Frame has been patched several times. Just picked up an 05 ext cab 4x4 the other day for 3k with 241k miles. No one wants these "high" mileage trucks. My 99 purrs like a kitten and I will still continue to drove it till it actually breaks in half. These ls based engines will out last pretty much everything short of a diesel. (well taken care if anyways)

I'm seriously considering one of these next year. I can get one around here same model but RWD for $5-6,000 easily same generation. I just need a more full size vehicle than my Rav4 and the occassional times I would haul or tow every so often or if I got some sort of boat in the future which I plan on doing.

Why does the A/C turn on with the auto climate control. I have a 2017 Silverado and it does the same. Is it not hard on it in the dead of winter?and when you go to turn off the A/C the auto light shuts off. Great chanel great content. Congrats on the new high country.

Thanks buddy! I do appreciate the comment, makes it worthwhile doing to hear that! I know what you mean about the A/C coming on. My understanding is that the compressor kicks on to keep it working even in winter months so it doesn’t seize come summer time from not operating. I believe there is a certain temperature that once it hits it will not kick on though (must be pretty cold, mine seems to run constant!)

My buddy works at a chevy dealer, they just got in a 2006 Silverado LT2 extended cab 5.3 2WD. They want 15k for it, it only has 32,000 miles. Should I go for it?

Typically the dash showed around 15. That’s city and highway. I live in the Ozark mountains, so lots of up and downhill driving
