A buddy of mine had this back in high school, we made it look like a young single mom car and we decked it out with a flower steering wheel cover and pink seat covers, eye lashes on the head lights, Victoria secrete "LOVE PINK" sticker on the back windshield, hello kitty stickers for the rear passenger door window, we had a "baby on board" caution sticker on the back windshield in the corner and we also put a baby seat in the back row seat and then we would take it out on a friday night and smoke all the honda riced out cars all the time lol.

YES! I guessed 2640lbs! My wife and I had the Matrix XRS and it was a great car. It ate clutches more than it should; we went through 2 in a 7 year period. For some reason, the shifter in our Matrix was a lot smoother and had a noticeable less throw. The Matrix has a more upright driving position with a shifter in the dash, so the wrist angle/action is way different. I would love to have a lower compression version of this with the 1ZZ crank. It makes it nearly 2l and adds a considerable amount of low end torque while keeping it rev-happy. Toyota DOES always leave something out. Conservative nature led them to make a 3rd gen MR2 that had marginally better power/weight than the Miata. But you can't out-Miata a Miata's aftermarket. I think I said something similar in your ZZW30 video... :)

Many old skool Toyota heads may be disappointed in the fact that they don't really try to compete directly with anything since the early 90's. It's clear that the aim of Toyota/Lexus is to simply give you an alternative that may not be as fast but more affordable and certainly more reliable than anything else. Sad to us car fanatics and fans of the brand but there is a reason they are number 1 and never really had any issues to really plague them like other brands. You know what you are getting when you buy a Toyota all the time. Slow and reliable! Lol

Sucks that toyota took a wrong turn with their compact sports segments. They focused so much on customizing the looks of the cars with their scion brand that they forgot that one of the most important factor is the power of the car. And in 2009 they let that go by putting the same 160hp 2.4L in the XRS and called it a day. It was no longer top of the line, sporty, or different that the LX being offered. I hope toyota learns from their mistake in the compact segment and revive the goodness in Toyota Racing Development.
