2006 TOYOTA SIENNA van radiator coolant thermostat housing fix

heres a look at a recent fix i took upon by replacing a really bad 'thermostat housing' pipe neck thats made out of reinforced plastic that wore out by time and completely cracked while initially trying to replace the rubber piping. so i ended having to fix 2 things.

Nice video. to get rid of the vsc , track lights which sometimes show up.. replace your brake switch.. I had the same issue and it was resolved when I changed the brake switch!

Exact same thing, I figured out the part but wanted to know what I was getting into before I dive in. Seems like a good time to replace the thermostat

If you do this job, you should also replace the two tee connectors that are below the air box, those crack too over time and leak coolant, plenty of videos on this too on KZbin

I made this repair recently and took of my starter to get to it. It didn't even occur for me to pull it out the other direction, so nice job thinking of that!

He still had to move starter to put back in. I was thinking the same pull out other end. But as a whole since it broke towards front of the vehicle. It didn't go back in as easy as came out

I also had coolant leak on the same spot. What I did was turn the clip 45 degrees and pushed the hose in further. It hasn't leaked since.

The 3 spark plugs outside on the front of the engine are easy but the 3 behind gave me a difficult time. Do not have room to work on.

could you tell me where you got the plastic housing? how is it holding up? I'm thinking getting the Dorman brand on Amazon but not sure about the quality.

nice video, hope i dont have to do this fix. Though i cant imagine trying to do catalytic work/spark plugs is much better. design was really not thought out properly.

Yeah just a little, unbolted it, moved it slightly to slide the pipe through.

Mine just broke in the same place....Plastic junk and the auto parts store want $45 for the cheap Dorman part.
