I will never ever EVER forget game 7 of the NLCS in 2006. Shame on MLB for not making it more prominent on KZbin. I know, they've made strides recently. But they've also been living in slow motion. Back to the game: That might have been the sickest curve ball of all time. Beltran had smashed like a trillion bombs against the Cards over the years. I was not optimistic when he he came up to bat with the bases loaded. Unlike 2011 this was the memorable moment. In the NLCS. Also Yadi...

@MANCHESTER UNITED No doubt soccer is the world's most popular sport however I think baseball is popular in a lot more than 15 countries. Baseball is a big sport in the entire Western hemisphere outside of Greenland and also has big leagues in about a dozen different Asian nations. With COVID the only baseball in the world right now is being played in Taiwan.

I remember how the Cards backed into the playoffs. It was between the Cards and Astros. The redbirds should have wrapped up the division, but kept losing and the Astros kept on winning. It came down to the very last game and St. Louis was down against the Brewers and it looked like their pitching would hold up. Then, as the news started spreading about the result of the Braves/Astros game, the fans in Busch Stadium started to do the tomahawk chop 🪓. That moment gave me chills.

As a life long Die Hard Cubs Fan (watching this on 9/15/22) I have to say this was enjoyable to watch. As Cubs-Cards fans can surely attest, it gets kinda intense at times. Heated games. Close games. But these guys (and Albert) always made it entertaining. I hope they have destiny with them this year as 4, and 5 are retiring, maybe they can catch lightning in a bottle. I know I'll get some heat for this, but yes, Redbirds have more WS titles....but head-to-head in playoffs we lead 1-0. (2015). I'm sure y'all have nightmares of 12's ball STILL on top of the scoreboard! But I know y'all would expect that. Good luck in the playoffs, this Cub Fan will be pulling for ya!

As a Tigers fan all my life, the issue I had with this WS wasn't so much that we lost in 5 games to a team who only won 83 games in '06. It's the fact that I have never seen, heard of, or know of, any team who looked so unqualified to be in a WS as the '06 Tigers. I would have rather been swept 4-0 but not have stood out so awkwardly like we did. I believe there have been 8 WS sweeps starting in 1989, none looking nearly as lost as the '06 Tigers despite winning a game, I'm just being honest.

I wasn't even alive in '86. Mets didn't use all their luck then. They still pitched their first no hitter against the Redbirds a few years after and have had plenty of great postseason moments since. Besides the '86 Mets won 108 games that year and deserved the title. Then again, '06 Mets deserved it too with 97 wins. If we didn't loose over half our pitching staff the pennant would've been ours in 06. But Cards got hot at the right time, and I tip my hat to them.

The announcers in 2011 forgot which St Louis pitcher was deemed the "ace" by claiming that the 2011 team was without its "ace" Wainwright- uh, they had Wainwright in 2006, and Carpenter was considered the ace here by many on the team, so 2011 they won with their ace again. DUH!

At 28:15 you can Brandon Inge say the correct thing when you get called for obstruction: "I don’t if he ran into me intentionally or not. If he did, it was a smart play. I'm not going to hate him for it." Too bad the Red Sox players don't know the rules.
