HUGE I couldnt find a video on this and this is super easy to do, I just got an android tablet radio for mine and I can macro my steering wheel buttons on it but I only have the LE basic volume, search, and mode buttons. Thank you sir

Thanks for this video. I own a corolla 2010 1.6 xli. The steering comes bare without any controls. It is possible I can add these controls by aftermarket buttons? Do u think there will be a provision to connect this? If not, is it safe to just put the buttons anyway without connecting, just for looks? Pls advice.

Woah! Nice job, mate! Does this messes with the airbag at all if something where to happen (accident)? I would be scared the whole take apart and putting back together messes with the ability of the airbag to react and deploy when needed

If more buttons are added to the steering wheel control will they work or would you need to run a wiring loom from the steering wheel to the radio?

More buttons than what the manufacturer put on the wheel? Yes, you would need new wiring. I don't know why would you need more buttons than what the manufacturer meant tho

@@411lofty I don't have 2009 Camry, but I am pretty sure it does have the harness. However, audio controls may not work with whatever stock radio. It will be used by aftermarket media center though.

Because there is a separate Bluetooth device that could be purchased separately. It cos a small fortune and it is not available anymore.

it should. it is the same steering design for the 2007-12 corolla, camry and highlander. the difference between the corolla axio and the corolla international, is that the axio is the japanese domestic version less some accessories of the international version, but the option is available to add these accessories for the axio.

Did you install the aftermarket radio on this Camry? Did the extra buttons work?

Yes. Aftermarket radio, actually Android based tablet. Extra buttons work. But not all. Control is done through resistors and aftermarket device has "learn" mode.

I will. Later. But, I can tell you now: The "voice " doesn't work in my aftermarket wheel control from Aliexpress. But, then again, it is not used in aftermarket radio.

Yes. But, aftermarket radio mic picks up ignition noise. So, you can hear well, but people have hard time hearing you. I still need to work on it.
