Good video. I used it along with three others to educate myself so I could replace the plugs on my Honda Fit. I just finished up a 1/2 hr ago. I have a 2008 Fit GD3 with the L15A1 VTEC engine with four spark plugs. I have 66,065 miles on the odo. I didn't have to remove any cowling or other parts because I was able to get the ignition coil hold-down bolts and coils out w/o removing other parts. I installed NGK Laser Iridium number 1ZFR6k-13 which is one of two plugs the owners manual calls for. The other is Denso. I bought the plugs at AutoZone for $19.49 each. I did NOT use anti-seize compound on the new plug threads because NGK's website specifically says don't use it since the threads are coated. The two ignition coils on the right side are a bit difficult to get at to remove so if you DIY you'll need to be patient and have pretty good dexterity.

Great video Definitely helpful Just wished you showed removing the clips ,wiper motor & each cover instead skipping over those parts

Thank you so much for making this video. It was my first time changing my fit plugs and it really helps to know what is going on.

If your arm is skinny enough like mine, you can change the plugs without removing anything. You will need experience and do it blindly though, by feel. Just don't drop the bolt! Good luck!

Very good video, well done, but It is not necessary to dismantle anything. You can access the spark plugs from the left side.

You have a video on cleaning throttle body and replace intake manifold gasket on the same vehicle?

Great video man thank you! A little inconvenient getting to these plugs but hard to complain with such a great engine and chassis in such a small package.

Hey thanks! Yeah great little cars. Glad the plugs only need to be done every 100k. Thanks for watching!

I think it looks worse than it is. Im about to do my daughters car. I did my Forde Edge and had to remove the plenum, hoses and electrical connections and all kinds of crap. it wasn't hard, just time consuming and trying to remember everything. If i had to do again, I would probably take it in, lol.

I did this the hard way by not taking apart the cowling. You have to work blind, but it wasn’t bad.

Would you say the trade off is worth it?
@OkiDingo2 жыл бұрын
@@Thx4TheVnm the hardest part is getting the coil packs unplugged. Which is crucial! If you force them out it will internally break the coil pack. If you are mechanically inclined and have some dexterity it’s better in my opinion

@@MrJohnnyDistortion i actually ended up damaging my coil pack and it slowly started failing until it died. The mistake I did was not unplugging the coil pack and just pulling it out. Make sure you unplug them and my method is fine.

@@OkiDingo Your mean, disconnect the electrical connector to each coil? Well ya. That's just common sense.

Torque them to 18-20 ft/lbs! That's Honda official recall on them. Otherwise they loosen off and common they blow out the head.

With filming it took around an hour. It looks like a lot of work but really everything comes off pretty quick 👍

Cause it I heard you were not supposed to use antisese as the plugs already have a plating

I've heard that too. But the Honda manual says to do it 🤷🏻♂️

2 tips. Torque plugs to 18 - 20 ft/lbs. Thats coming from Honda. Its common the plugs will loosen off and blow out of the head. 2 tip, get your plugs from napa or anywhere else. NGK - IZFR6K13. I went to Honda at first for plugs, i open the Honda box to see one at they are NGK's that part number i posted. They wantes 52$ per plug! EXACT same ones i got from Napa for $22.
