Did this on my versa note yesterday. Diiferent parts to remove, location of hose is different, I had to oull the hydraulic clip instead of pushing it in but there is enough great info in this video for me to get the job done! The hardest part for me was getting the air out of the master cylinder. Im a 60 yr old single woman with minimum auto experience....if i can do this anyone can

Thanks and you're welcome, glad the video was helpful for you. Be aware that the reservoir cap gasket is designed with folded extra material, to give without creating vacuum and with out braking the seal as fluid is used. Also, when you have the cap off you want to make sure no debris falls into the fluid and remember that brake fluid is hygroscopic. Meaning it absorbs moisture from the environment so, if you are in a high moisture area or day you want to keep it covered

Same here. One of the little 3 prong plastic connection points broke. Slammed the pedal to the floor nearly giving me a heartattack. Luckily, popped it back in and put zipties in X fashion to hold it. Seems to be working. But will keep this video in my backpocket just incase I need to replace the whole thing. I hate that Nissan used plastic for this part of the master cylinder. Dumb. Could kill someone for using plastic.

Just had a dealer do this, along with a new clutch assembly and flywheel. Expensive. Unfortunately, the clutch pedal disengagement now requires the clutch pedal to be depressed almost all the way to the floor, and it engages almost immediately. Is the clutch pedal engagement position adjustable in any way, or is this a function of a new clutch pack assembly? Thanks!

I 've already read in service manual that to empty the fluid you just need to slide the tube to bleeding position and by depressing the clutch pedal all fluid will be evacuated .

According to the data system here in the USA it has a different engine and transmission than the Versa but the Clutch Master Cylinder is the same. When you say double clutch are you referring to the Dual Mass Flywheel? In the USA it does not appear to have a double clutch transmission, but it has a Dual Mass Flywheel. May we ask is your Vehicle a USA model or in which country is the vehicle located? We would like to know if they offered a dual clutch transmission elsewhere

@FIXMYCAR HELLO. I have a 2008 Nissan Altima coupe 6 spd manual with the 2.5. My clutch went to the floor from 2nd to 3rd. I started taking the air box and stuff off and when I got to the bleeder part on the line with the clip it was already off. Should I just put it back and try to bleed it to see if that will fix it or is it a way I can check the other parts to see if something else is bad?

Hi FixMyCar, I replaced the slave cylinder located inside the bell housing and having difficult time trying to bleed the clutch. I put the clutch tube on second position and pumped the clutch till all the air bubbles were out. Then when I closed the tube and pressed the clutch, fluid started gushing out of the bleeding value. I even replaced the clutch tube thinking that the clip is bad. I did not prefill the slave cylinder with brake fluid. Was this a mistake and do I have to remove the bell housing again to prefill the slave cylinder ? Please let me know. I have a Nissan Altima 2008. Thanks

To bleed the slave cylinder you have to... 1. Open the bleeding tube (Engage the metal clip so that you can pull the fluid line out to that first "open for bleeding" click position.) 2. Press/HOLD DOWN the clutch Pedal 3. Close The Bleeding Tube (push the fluid line all the way in to the "closed" final click position. The metal clip will probably lock down automatically) 4. Bring up the clutch Pedal -REPEAT this maybe 30-100 times. Yes, 30-100 times. It's going to take forever. It sucks. Your thumb is going to hurt pressing that metal clip. Your going to want to quit. But it is what it is. 👉🏻Just Keep Going.👈🏻 Eventually the clutch pedal will stiffen as the slave cylinder is finally filled with fluid and the pedal finally has fluid resistance. Do this until the pedal feels normal and there is no air seeping out of the tube, just straight brake fluid (Step 2). I'm going to repeat this, because it's important, When I say 30-100 I literally mean it took me about 60 repetitions. Here is a rough schematic. To the left is the engine and transmission. And the [ ]'s are the positions the fluid line can be in. Either clicked into the final [Closed] position, clicked into the middle [Bleed] position or completely un-clicked and [Off]. {Eng/tran}---[Closed]--[Bleed]--[Off]---- ***Also Very Important: Make sure the car is level (not on jacks) with the way some of the brake master cylinders are designed it may not work unleveled.*** You can do this, 👨🏻‍🔧 Goodluck
