2007 - 2013 Nissan Altima Amp and Sub Install

Watch a full tutorial as a 2007 Nissan Altima will have a Rockford Fosgate amplifier and subwoofer installed to an existing aftermarket radio. We will be mounting the amp under the passenger front seat.
Note: This Altima was not equipped with BOSE audio. If you are retaining the factory radio, (either Bose or non-Bose), you will need a Line Out Converter to install your new amplifier. Non-Bose factory radios can have the line out converter installed behind the radio, and Bose trims will require you to install the line out converter at the factory Sub in the trunk deck lid.
This video applies to Nissan Altima models for years 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013. This video also includes mounting the amplifier, wiring, installation, and testing.

To help you out in the future. The altimas have a dummy plug on the passengers side up right behind the glove box. Altimas are known as knuckle busters for me when it comes to the driver side firewall. So next time you have a altima in the bay check out that dummy plug on the passengers side especially helps if your mounting the amplifier on that side as well. 👊 now back to the video

@Tiger Bennett I'm glad you found it. Yea normally the safest way to go through the drivers side firewall is to jack up the car take off the drivers side tire then the wheel well splash guard and you can access it through there. But still on the inside the emergency brake assembly is in the way and that metal is very sharp all around it very easy to get cut up. And even on the inside of the engine the strut tower blocks the view of the grommet. I've done enough to where I can do it because I have small hands but that passengers side dummy plug is always the safest. The only thing is your limited to where you can mount your amplifier depending on how long your power wire is. But there is always a way just got to take your time

@DarkCryRoad it should be up right corner of the firewall behind the glovebox normally on that year it is hidden behind the carpet. Should be about the size of an oreo or a little bit smaller

These guys are true professionals most shops in Atlanta don’t put the amp under the seat. It’s in the trunk and all wires are routed one way together 😡

Will the line out converter work for a 2016 Altima? Or can you recommend something similar ? Trying to install a skar kit and want to keep the radio.

Don’t keep the factory radio man, just go with a Sony AX3200 and a $35 dash kit. It’s well worth it.

Line output converter is super easy to use on the altima. I’ve used one and spliced it into the rear deck speakers and it worked great. It is pry better to get a different radio, but if you absolutely want to keep stock radio I highly recommend line output converter

Line output converters work really well bro, I tapped into the wires towards the back and it works great. I also wired the amp to my back speakers but I ran new wires from there

Anyone know the max rms you can run with stock alternator? I tested a 300 watt rms sub and it was causing my headlights and interior lights to dim

Many variables there, health of battery, wiring, size of amplifier, etc. A big 3 upgrade and a healthy battery can go a long way. We did this 1200w RMS amp and a big 3 upgrade without issue.

I did two 1100 watts 12 inch subs wired to 1 ohm I think you should be good

This is too complicated for a simple amp upgrade but didn’t replace it cuz it’s even more complicated so it’s easier to just add another one ☠️☠️

nope, not always. Look for an OEM grommet where you can snake your wire through. We had the V6, so engine bay was super tight. You may have better success.
