This is great information, my man. I own an Auto Parts company and we support tons of customers with fuse and battery problems. I just got the same car you have - fun car for the upcoming summer - and it has the same issues yours had. I'm troubleshooting and came across your video and it points me in the direction I need - thank you. I'll follow up with end result here in a couple weeks. Thanks for sharing! EDS Parts

Thanks for the info. Really saved me in a jam. My 2008 A4 Cab. driver side window was stuck down and wouldn’t move up and a heavy rainstorm was coming. I knew there wasn’t anything wrong with the window hardware. I pulled #24 fuse and re-inserted it. Power cycling activated the window again and it went up. Kept me dry. Going to replace the comfort control unit because everything you said wasn’t working is happening to my car right now.

Do you have a roof leak? Or have you checked your drain hole underneath the battery? I've read where some people had partial failures with ccm. One guy was able to dry his ccm out and it worked. But yeah? It takes less than 10 minutes to check it...just to be sure. When you lift your carpet up, you will know immediately if your ccm is wet. Also I was able to puth down on the carpet and felt it was wet and also a squishy sound

I just watched the video again, getting ready to check mine. It's like you're sitting in my car, ridiculous roof t-handle out, fuse cover off... The engineering on these cars is overly complicated and not thought out. A note to you, my floor was soaked because the back window glue had failed. Check yours! So, the battery drain is only ONE way the ccm can get wet... These guys are idiots Thanks again, I'll let you know what I find

@@jonking7345 thats funny you said that. I just tried to glue my back window on yesterday. Mine is barely holding on in two spots. I tried marine glue and it didn't attach well. I'll give it another attempt tomorrow. If the carpet is wet, I'll bet anything your module got wet. Just be confident. I can change it out in 10 minutes now. Once you get in there and so it once...its extremely easy. The hardest part was trying to hold the carpet and open the box. Wedging it solved that. Make sure you check all your 20amp fuses also! Mine was blown. Doors worked but lights and roof didn't after I replaced module. The convenience fuse was blown. Let me know and good luck!

@@indiancc1204 I wouldn't recommend bothering with stuff that isn't meant for the job. Get some 3M Window Weld and some 3M Single Step primer. That window attachment is put under so much stress when the top goes down. I have some of both left if you happen to live in Ohio. It goes bad after a little time, like a week, once it's been open. Both are available on Amazon. If you look up the Single Step primer on KZbin, you'll find videos of people doing, guess what car?

They are beautiful cars. Even with the small issues you get. It's my most favorite vehicle that I've owned. If the roof and windows, interior lights don't fade off then you close the door...they all point towards the CCM. It's an easy fix once you do it. I struggled the first few times because I didn't know what I was doing but now I can change that mode out in 10 minutes. Check the comfort control fuses also.that affects the roof also. The key is still not working. I fixed it before when I first got the car but that was with the original CCM. There are many variations online and on the internet on how to reprogram it but to date nothing has worked. I guess just having everything work again and not have paid $1400 makes it easier to just have the key as my only issue.

hi Bill. My drain hole underneath the battery was clogged. all that I did was pull the battery out, and clean out off the leaves, etc that had built up over time and decomposed. it almost was a mud like substance from decomposition. I used a screwdriver to get stuff in areas I couldnt get my hand into. I did not have a good vacuum to clean it so I basically used my hand and towels. It was a lot there! the hole was completely covered with dirt. I bought it used 2 years ago so Im fixing a lot of stuff as I go with this Audi. Just be thorough when cleaning it. I got out as much as I could get. then I took a screwdriver and stuck it down into drain hole to make sure it was clear. there was leaves in the rubber boot that the hole has on it underneath. and now on occasion, I pop the hood and check to make sure everything looks good. give that a try!

@@indiancc1204 - Ours flooded out after a combination of Henri and Ida, and I’d been gradually doing what I could to dry it out. After a week in the garage with a fan blowing through, it was still on the fritz, so I did some more googling, and learned about the CCM . Sucked another gallon of water out from under the floor, and had water drain out of the CCM when I lifted it up. My CCM looked much like yours, except had a whole bunch of silt inside. I’m still waiting on the new CCM. My key fobs have never worked since I picked it up 2 years ago. NBD, since it’s a sometimes car, but I may see if I can get them working again after. Re: the drain - once I got the battery out, it was super apparent where it was - big, giant hole in the center of the battery tray (Still under about 3” of water after two weeks). Poked it with my finger, and that clog sloshed down and onto the garage floor, then shop vac’d out the rest. Thanks for this video -

@@indiancc1204 Since the car is not super new, and since I was a Jeep guy several decades ago, I’m tempted to just grab the 1/4” bit and some rustoleum and add a drain hole in both the drivers and passenger side foot wells. Ordered a replacement soft top (I’ve got a 17 YO kid who’s semi-handy, and who I want to have projects to work to move them from semi- to actually handy), so hopefully that’ll buy me another decade. I’m also super fortunate in that we have a 2 car garage that we can actually get 2 cars into (unless there are bicycles strewn around because it’s cycling wether), so in the future, if it’s rain, the 4 door without a sunroof will be in the driveway, and the ragtop will be in the garage with the car with the moonroof.

I have a 2008 Audi A4 quattro convertible and my driver side and rest of my rear windows don't work except the front passenger side window and light works. The convertible top and radio don't work either. Can it be the same issue you had or can it be just a blown fuse?
@indiancc1204
@indiancc1204 2 жыл бұрын
Yes check your fuses first. I think I said in the video I did that after I replaced module, my interior lights didn't work. I checked fuses and it was blown. I'd check that for sure. Should be a 20amp. Did you pull up your carpet and check the module? If you see any water there, it's possible that module is bad my concern is the radio. If I'm not mistaken, the radio is not controlled by the comfort module. As a matter of fact, when mine was out of the car, the radio worked fine. Thats strange for just 1 window to work. Does your interior lights come on and fade off after shutting door? That convience fuse controlled my roof and interior lights. So, go thru all your 20 amp fuses first. Then I'd pull the carpet up and check underneath it is very simple to do dont think if it as a big project. Should be 1 screw. Let me know what you find out

The only window that works is on the passenger side using its own power switch so that's the only window I can open and close. This car was originally own by my sister and she didn't want to fix it to much money instead she bought a newer smaller Smart car. She gave it to me and I want to take up the project in hooking it up from body kits to better aftermarket rims. It needs a new paint job and body work. The interior looks brand new except for the bottom rear seat with some little rip holes. The electrical part been an issue since my sister had the car in the garage for 2 years. She didn't use it at all. After she got it on the road she change the brakes and a few other things in which it was expensive. It definitely needs an oil change and tune up. I also think The windshield washer fluid Reservoir have a leak since I put some washer fluid liquid it all came out. It could be some hose. I hope it's a hose with a leak because the Reservoir it's not that cheap. The mechanic told me u had another leak it's not as bad to fix just 300 dollars. What caused you to replace the original CCM? Did it get wet and short out or did things stop working out of the blue without flooding? Check youtube for window reset..just in case. but ultimately, your BCM might be bad. the ccm and bcm control different things. There is a video on youtube of a guy who fixed his wipers and lights after replacing BCM. if.....you want to take it to a shop and have them run a scanner it might tell you specifically where your problem is. Will those tell me anything if I hook it to a scanner the window rolled down today now it’s stuck and won’t go back up. I just don’t see how the BCM could go bad after it was the CCM in the first place I’m going to try to clean the connectors better then plug it in. You sure I don’t have to reset the whole system after hooking up CCM or could the car be stuck in “safe mode”

If it's only your wipers, check your fuses. If all the fuses are good then the wiper motor may be bad. Mine didn't work because of the CCM. Once I replaced it everything worked great. If your wipers are the only thing not working then it's a fuse or motor hopefully. Depending on the year of your car, it could also have a BCM which is under your dash. The BCM can also cause issues with wipers. But like I said when those modules go bad it's usually multiple things that go bad at once.

@@indiancc1204 yea I did check the ccm fuse after I rehooked up hydraulic motor and it blew the fuse . Replaced ccm fuse now windows r back working but still no roof moving I think it may be the whole motor itself . @@thierryyanick1908 as long as the number...and last letter match you should be fine. But there can be different versions. For instance, the module for my car were made in different years. I found one that had the year 2006 on it. I kept looking until the year matched my car which was 2007. I chose the later date. I believe that they are updated slightly more. But the biggest key is to try and make sure the model number and suffix letter match. As long as they match you should be fine

@@indiancc1204 mannnnn roof is the last one so far i am working on it. I got a4 2004 3.0 Quattro with 95k last November, had replaced almost everything in the engine section. But about the roof, i had “soft top cannot be used” sign coming when i pressed previously. I found that one of the fuse is bad replaced. Then it started opening halfway. After not using of 3 months now it only moves couple inches. I took 3 pumps from jankyard. Put all three, cleaned inside brushes put back. All pumps give me same conclusion. Not sure what to do

@@musamusayev7755 yeah if your not getting an error code when using button, then it's something going on with the wires, motors, or somewhere else. I'm not an expert on this but I can only tell you how I knew mine was the issue. When mine went out, I had multiple issues. But when I opened and closed my door, I could hear the windows slightly move. That's something that these audi' s do. So I knew the motor was working for the windows. Second checking module was initially exploratory. Then of course, I saw it got wet, and caught on fire. So mine was pretty obvious. Did yours get wet? Did it catch on fire? Is your roof not working? Interior lights?

How do you get the box off?
@indiancc1204
@indiancc1204 2 жыл бұрын
Which box? You have the outer box, and the ccm inside of it.
@indiancc1204
@indiancc1204 2 жыл бұрын
the outer box has the 4 clips that you push in to open the case. once inside you take ccm out of box. if you are referring to the box that covers the ccm, there are 6 clips you have to pry. once you get one to pop open the others are easy. take a screwdriver of pry the outer edge of case. it looks light but get something in between and pry. there are the 4 clips and then two on the side. prying under the outer case you will eventually get it off. the case is a hard plastic. dont worry about breaking it
