02-04 Audi A4 Body Control Module replacement.

Body control module replacement BCM on a 2004 Audi A4 . Symptoms of a bad BCM on my car are wipers not working, rear view mirror not working and headlights are always on even when on the off position. Watch me replace and fix these issues. If you want to reprogram your module thi is what you do; on VCDS . Open the VCDS, then go to SELECT, then 09-Cent. Elect. It's going to show your control module number, on my car was 8E0 907 279 F. under it is your soft code, my code is 01013 because i have automatic headlights with xenon HID's. Yours might be different depending on the options on your car. To change the code; go to Coding-07 then input the code and 'do it'.
To adapt the module to your car's VIN go to Adaptation -10 right under Coding-07. go to channel 81, on the New value window type 46992, next and then save. Your module should now be coded to your VIN.

It's raining out and his wipers stopped working, he wasn't sure how he was going to get home, but we went into one of our parts yards, pulled the part, installed it in the parking lot, boom! Damn dude, I think I finally found why my headlights are always on lol. I already bought 2 headlight switches and still no luck. Also, the driver’s door won’t unlock with the remote and fog lights are always off. I’ve been researching for over a month now I give it a try. I will replace the BCM and let’s see if it will work!

Yes this is common problem with these cars. Before fixing mine I did the same, replacing the light switch ,But it was the BCM whole time.

Hi Guys, i have terrible issue. Even the engine is running or not running the car's exterior lighting, air conditioning, window control, dashboard turn off for a second and then turn on again. interior lighting is sometimes turned on by itself. Sometimes the window control button triggers this fault and electricity is cut off for about 10 seconds and the radiator fan is running. I changed the battery, bcm, ccm and fuses. i don't know what to do anymore...

I also have a few electrical symptoms in my B6, like ac flaps are constantly moving after the car is turned off, dipped headlight error all the time as well as the light switch that does not turn off the headlights. Do you think the dipped headlight error is coming from a faulty BCM?

Most of the electrical problems this car’s have comes from water getting into the BCM and CCM. The headlight switch and headlights are controlled by the BCM the part I replaced, but you should also check under the carpet (driver side) for water under there. And also under the hood where the ECU lives. Let me know if it helps.

think this finally was the video that will solve all my problems. My wipers run all the time aslong as the ignition is on, horn goes on an off, door locks, drains battery. Havnt done more then remove it from the car yet. But when i took it of its place, it was full of water!! the ecu cover in the negine compartment had a hole, and all the water running down the window landed directly on it. BIG THANKS! and by the way, did you need to recode it?????????????

Hopefully I could help you solve the issues.!! On my car I didn’t have to recode the module, I think the car I got the module from had the same options as mine. But I left a detailed description of how to recode your module in case you need to do it. It’s on the description under this video.

Does BCM also deals with the car key because I can't get the keys to operate remotely , windows are working just one that is confused if you closes it, it opens when you open it closes and come down so it's up and down Lastly can the BCM be serviced or uou must just replace How much are they going for?

Glad I can help, I know the CCM is responsible for controlling a lot of the electrical functions of these cars but I’m 100% sure if it controls the key fob functions. I don’t know of anyone that knows how to repair this modules but they are not too expensive used. I got mine from my local yunkyard for less then $40 dollars and it’s been working fine.

Thank you. If your car is 5 or 6 speed standard,I would look at the reverse switch located on the side of the transmission. It’s a 2 wire connector and controls the reverse lights.

Does this control the steering column controls too and electric windows mirrors, I got no lights horn indicators wipers electric windows mirrors on a 2004 a4 estate 8e95 1.9tdi. I jump started another car and all these bits stopped working

I recently changed mine I live in the Highlands of Scotland. My wipers and indicators head lights stopped working. I scanned the car with Vcds it told me the BCM had no communication. So I found a replacement with the same part number. I replaced it and waited it did not work straight away. The head lights started to work the hazzards worked. I started to check for bad earths they all came back good. Anyway it got dark and I decided to leave it I have 2 car's so I wasn't able to get back to the car till a day later leaving the battery connected. I came out a day after went to the car turned my key on my wipers started to work same as my high beam lights and turn signals. I scanned the car with Vcds it came back and Told me wrong vin stored in the BCM.

9 times out of 10 is the BCM but the actual light switch also goes bad.

@Edielou Sevilla from my understanding the windows are controlled by the confort control module under the carpet of the driver side. Check all your fuses and relays before changing any part on your car, always start from the simplest thing.

I have a 2006 a4 b7 - my issues are i cant reprogram my fob keys. The instrument panal isnt working properly- some lights dont come on the gas gauge sits at empty. The car starts then turns off after a second as if immobilizer is turning it off- not showing like bad key on dasd though- could this be bcm module? I also thought wipers went on by themselves one time.Fob keys wont lock or open doors remotely??

From what I have researched, the BCC controls the immobilizer, lights, windows, wipers and many more. Not 100% sure it controls the key fob but it’s a good chance it does.

To do so- trying not to take to dealer- i think this happened when i used a air pump from cigarette socket the pump was shorted- it blew the cig fuse but happened right after- only guessing

Yes it’s located under the steering wheel.If all the numbers and last letter match I don’t think you’ll have any problems but in some cases the BCM is programmed differently for cars with HID and and other functions. In that case you’ll have to reprogram it. I was lucky I didn’t have to do it, but it’s not hard to reprogram it with VAG-Com.

From what I have researched,These cars have 2 control modules for electronics, one is the confort control module located under the carpet and the other one is the body control module, the one I’m replacing in this video. I know wipers are controlled by the body control module also headlights. The confort control module controls other things like alarm and security system on the car. Maybe it needs to be reprogrammed for it to work properly.

I’ve heard you can use the modules from 2002 to even 2006 but I have never Try it personally. The only thing the changes is the letter at the end. My module has an “F” but I have seen “E” also.

I have communication errors with central electics and few other modules. Car runs fine and everything but fuel guage works(swapped fuel sender but didnt fix the problem).Could this be a problem?

It is possible that you have a problem with your body control module. Is that the only problem you are having with your electronics? In my car water was leaking down from the wipers area on the front of the car and getting the module wet.

@@mannysolution atfirst I thought my obd eleven connectivity was the issue and tried vcds. Both has communication issues with about 2 to 3 modules lol. As far I remember, I am mostly not able to connect to Electronics related modules. Fuel guage contant shows low fuel light and always wrong(needle sits whereever it likes mostly wrong)

@@rayj33 the body control module is responsible for a lot of functions in the car including cluster, wipers, headlights and other electronics. It is possible that yours is bad but unlikely if all other electronics mentioned are ok. I would recommend checking for leaks on the area where the module is located and even under the carpet. These car tend to have water leaks on that area and having electrical problems due to it.

Those modules suffer from the same problem , they get wet and most likely it’s defective too. Open it up and look for white or green stains inside if you see that it might be defective.

I don’t recommend using a different letter number than the one that came with your car because it could be completely different. But I’ve heard you can recode a different module to your car using the VCDS program , I’ve just never done it.

Hello mate i know this is an old vidéo but perharps you can help me out with this issue am facing. I've goy not power on drivers door..only the red light and the puddle lights work.. But power Windows,mirrors and central locking don't work nor any other windows. So far I've changed my powerwindows command drivers side and the power window motor along with the harness .. Dôme light remains on and car doesn't recognise door open still driver's door I'm kind of stuck please help me if you can..thx

Hello, I would check under the carpet for water, these cars tend to collect water under the carpet (left hand side) that’s where the CCM or confort control module is located. That module is responsible for a lot of functions on these cars.

En un caso anterior, mi amigo tenia un Audi A4 cabrio y el problema era el “confort control module” que está localisado debajo de la alfombra del carro en el lado del conductor. Es una computadora que controla muchas funciones del carro y muchas veces se moja de agua y hace que dañe esa computadora. Recomiendo chequear eso a ver si está mojada, es lo más probable que sea eso.

From my understanding they are interchangeable if you program it to your specific car. I always try to stick with the same part number just to avoid any possible differences.
