I haven't fixed this yet and will start looking into what is causing it, making a video of the resolve.

VCDS finds no power or fiber issues. I can get the MMI system to turn on by pulling the bose amp fuse, hitting MMI buttons so it comes up fails, then put bose amp fuse back in. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rn3FXqRpntepg9E

@@JohnGone-wl8uo this isnt true for 2007-2009 there is no fuse in the back of the CDROM. especially not true in my case since pushing eject button on the CDROM turns it on to ask which CD to eject. this simple test will show a person either there is no fuse on the cdrom or its not blown. In fact I had my CDROM sitting on the floor disconnected fiber looped bypassing it for a few months with the radio working fine.

I have a water damaged BOSE amp like the majority of people due to their stupid drain tube idiotic design. to get my MMI to turn on I do a process I show here which involves removing BOSE amp fuse so MMI wont shut it off, kzbin.info/www/bejne/rn3FXqRpntepg9E

@@JohnGone-wl8uo the bose amp isnt in the spare tire, that is the BOSE Boombox aka speaker. the BOSE AMP is one of the boxes at the fuse box in the back. the roof drain design is melted to the outside of the down rubber tube which is right above this area. this meld between the two comes apart after about 7 yeas and now the water runs down the side of the tube instead of into it. this then flows directly onto the bose amp in there and burns them out. I caught mine just before it was totally dead. also in this area is the water line to spray the rear window and guess what? that ALSO comes apart and sprays the BOSE AMP. also in there area is the Cell box, the DVD GPS drive lower area with spare and some other stuff. but the main damage always happens to the BOSE AMP in this area because I think the down tube is touching it or extremely close to it. I have a video how to fix these down tubes. if you dont fix them u will 100% lose the BOSE AMP. due to my BOSE AMP is near dead when it turns on i believe its drawing too much power so the MMI fails it and refuses to turn on. the procedure I show gets you by this failure. pulling the bose amp fuse etc, its not that simple you have to follow how I do it. I figured it out by accident as I could not find out what was wrong as every single thing tested fine and VCDS showed no failures anywhere.

Would you happen to know how do I get inside of my doors to unplug the connectors because the door handle touch sensors are bad and draining my battery.

@@Heylo7 isnt that a way newer audi? if unplugging is the goal then taking off the door panel is how. but I would have to doubt there is a plug at the handle solely for the sensor. either way the door panel would need to come off, im sure there are other vids on that as i dont know where the screws are and the clips

there are multiple reason for this to happen. most of the time it's water damage to the boss amp due to Audi's inept engineer not having the roof drain INTO the down tubes so over time the tubes separate in the rear letting water flow down the outside of the down tube and directly onto the BOSS amp and the navigation electronics. audi blames the customer for this and will gladly charge you $2000+ to replace the boss amp while leaving the roof drain to keep causing water damage... other reasons are the user spilling drinks into the multimedia control center....

I dont know. I do know the 3.6 the engine basically has to be removed as its in the back against the firewall and part of the timing chain

maybe? I know on my 3.6 you cant drop the oil pan because the frame and axles are almost flush to it. I'de assume the same for the 4.2

are you sure you didnt bend a pin connecting up the replacement board? plug the original board back in and see if it lights up after checking pins arent bent.

I have not found my issue yet although I know what it is. There are 2 main ways to lose MMI, top one is the rear roof drains coming apart and leaking onto the amp shorting it out. something AUDI should have done a recall on but instead blames the end user. the other top one is spilling a drink into the MMI Controls at the shifter this will short out the board. replacing the board will fix it. the 3rd not so well known as I have seen yet and my issue which I have not tracked down to the failure point yet its the front drains clogging which I have a video on how to unclog them, they are most likely the cause of my present issue. they fill with water at your foot areas on both sides and corrode some wiring harness. this is what I need to track down clean and fix....

Aún no he encontrado mi problema, aunque sé cuál es. Hay 2 formas principales de perder MMI, la primera es que los desagües del techo trasero se separan y se filtran hacia el amplificador, lo que lo corta. algo en lo que AUDI debería haber hecho un retiro del mercado, pero en cambio culpa al usuario final. el otro superior está derramando una bebida en los controles MMI en la palanca de cambios, esto provocará un cortocircuito en el tablero. reemplazar la placa lo arreglará. el tercero no es tan conocido como lo he visto todavía y mi problema, que aún no he rastreado hasta el punto de falla, es la obstrucción de los desagües delanteros, que tengo un video sobre cómo desatascarlos, lo más probable es que sean la causa de mi presente problema. se llenan de agua en las áreas de los pies en ambos lados y corroen algunos mazos de cables. esto es lo que necesito para rastrear limpio y arreglar ...

whats wrong with your engine??? I have the same miles but trying to resolve a sudden low oil pressure issue which definitely isnt a bad oil pressure sensor. as for what I covered above. if u did not fix your rear down tubes u r going to lose your bose amp soon. you should pull the rear spare tire out and check it for water.

that's a totally different issue well can lead to this. your MMI board has liquid damage. ah SOB I never uploaded the video how to change this board. you can find a replacement board on EBAY 06-09 "MMI Control Circuit Board E380 with Navigation" it's not hard to replace. I wouldnt suggest buying the whole button unit as you will just be buying something that is also in the later stages of liquid damage

not sure about the radio signal, that doesnt sound related. there is more impending doom wih the Q7 that you should take care of asap which may related to the radio signal. the front drains clogging will cause water damage to components up front. also the rear roof drains tubes are a major problem that will blow out your bose amp, cell module, navigation dvd drive etc. This particular issue is not a MAY HAPPEN it will 100% happen due to a design flaw. if any of those 3 listed items get damaged your whole MMI system will shut down. so it's not a thing where you can say ah I dont use the nav dvd, the MMI system doesnt care your thoughts lol. if it cant interact with those devices it will shut itself down when powered up due to the phyber communications will be down. cleaning front drains kzbin.info/www/bejne/mpXGi6CFjMeDnac my poor video of how to fix the rear drain tubes kzbin.info/www/bejne/iYHVdWyAm9asldU

It's your MMI motherboard that is damaged replace it and your radio will and should work....

No it isn't. I used to buy those broken center consoles repair them and resell for $200+ profit. I know when that is bad or not... this present issue is caused by the front drains being clogged or the minor damage to my AMP from the rear drains got worse... however bypassing the AMP doesnt fix it so its not the AMP.

I dont believe an 07 has sirius option? Other causes are the Phone module which is under the center console area but I never spilled anything in the car so im not thinking that. it all went south when the front drains were plugged and it sounded like the ocean turning corners. although there was never water intrusion into the cab area that I saw it doesnt mean there is no corrosion from it as water causes condensation from evaporation and hot cold cycles...

is your mmi not turning on? if you have not repaired the rear upper drain tubes your rear amp is in severe danger. the glue on those tubes is only good for like 10 years. pull the spare tire/speaker out of the rear and check for water. if you have water in there you need to fix those down tubes asap
