My 2007 Suburban LTZ is currently at 284k miles on the original engine. It has some lifter tick at start up but then goes away. Still runs and drives great and is super reliable. The v4 mode still works never messed with it and hasn’t given me any issues.

2011 to 2013s are absolutely the best years. Chevy fixed all the factory defects by then. LOVE THIS GENERATION SUBURBAN!! You have to change 2010 and earlier driver side valve cover and oil deflector in the oil pan. Get the Range Technology V4 deactivate dongle too. :).

@@TheGoatReo 2007 upgraded everything in the Suburban except the transmission. 2007 is the only year this body style had the old 4 speed. 2008 and up had the 6 speed. The 6 speed does improve the fuel efficiency and provides smoother shifting.

Use the Range AFM deactivater & I would suggest the Lucus synthetic low viscosity oil stabilizer. The Lucus oil stabilizer I will recommend to anyone who owns a vehicle with cylinder deactivation to use the product at every oil change. It eliminates the cold engine start / ticking . All the auto parts stores carry the product. it's part # 11097 ! It works .

I have spent only spent $4k-$5k on mine over the last 15 years...brakes, tires, rotors, batteries, oil, oil sender, fluids, master brake cylinder (whatever it is called in modern cars), headlights, etc. Paid for and runs great and the new version with my options is $80k.

@ちくてぬしくけて2 жыл бұрын
The AFM feature. Watch out for dropped/noisy valves. Sway bar front links are weak (plastic). Other than that, the suspension starts deteriorating after 100k miles, just like any other suv this size. Mine has 400k miles and is still driving, but i deleted the afm, and my rear end is giving up on me. Gonna drop 3.73 gears on the rebuild. Maybe swap an L9H, and rebuild/strengthen the 6L80.

My 05 would say low pil pressure from time to time. But still ran fine. I just ignore it. Could be a faulty sensor. I plan on installing fresh engine down the road. My Burb has 360k+ miles and i love it. It is the Z71 4x4 model which was top of the line in 2005. It has every option and the sheer price deference from top of the line in 2005 vs now is insane! New Suburban top of the line editions are near $100k and are not as reliable/capable of the older cheaper ones.😊

I feel crazy that I did this, but in 2021 I just bought a 2007 burban. I had one growing up and miss it. Now that I have a family of my own, I thought it was a great option. Anything newer than the recession is just way too expensive.

Same here, I bought a 2007 Suburban 2500 4X4 in November of 2021 with only 128,000 on it, my first non Ford or Lincoln in over 20 years ( with exception to an 82' Coupe DeVille in 2010 just because I thought it was cool) This Suburban is a keeper, it's unlikely I'll ever sell it, I believe this generation of Tahoe/Suburban/Yukon/Denali will go up in value just like the square bodies, especially 3/4 ton 4X4's. In addition to that, they have a proven longevity and reliability. I really like this styling much better that the newer ones.

You would be right. Picked up a 2015 Suburban LT and the interior feels so cheap with all the plastic. They printed some plastic to look like leather inside of using the leather… the trizone climate control is ass. Takes forever to change the temperature. Kinda wish I went with the 2014 LT model. I love that year’s interior over the last 2 refreshes. So I’m usually in my 2008 Silverado over the SUV.

Sure a Toyota Highlander or Land Cruiser is great BUT, Nothing like having a 5.3 Liter V8, naturally aspirated smooth power. Plus towing capabilities? Have Good year All Terrain Wrangler s, makes slight road noise but You need it here in TX, ground clearance and grip. Love having the Space and room. Yes, gas chuggler but worth it. 400-420 miles on a full tank about $70-75 for Full tank of gas. Very versatile. Small things had to get fixed; bought mine with 156K-thousand miles and didn't even blink. Change oil, filter, add Sea-Foam and it literally runs and idles NEW. Quirks for age but mechanical wise, Amazing!

This is the biggest piece of crap chevy ever built. I got one, and it is on its 3rd motor. Not junk yard motors either. First one, the lifters bit the dust. Destroyed the engine. Second engine was build by a professional shop. Sitting at the school to pick up the kids. Broke three teeth off the timing sprocket. Busted a piston. Now I got this engine used. Replaced the seals, got it installed. Fired it off, coil pack codes. Replace the coil packs, I got extras after all. New plugs, and wires. Drive it to the end of street. Cam sensor goes out. I replace, cam, and crank sensor. Runs good to the gas station, filled up the 32 gallon tank, takes 18 minutes because the charcoal canister is not working properly, so I have no vent, and it won't take gas. So driving back home, boom, limp mode. Scan codes in the shop. Cam, and crank out of sync p0016. Pull the timing cover, and the plastic tensioner fell apart. Put a new tensioner on it, requires dropping the oil pan. Got it done, drove it around the block,. Gas pedal stops working. Back to the shop, code p0123. The throttle body is broke. So Monday I will be trading this pos for a 1999 toyota. If you are thinking about buying a chevy. Ask yourself, is it because I have too much money, or cause I need to walk more. I have 5 chevys, and my backup is a 2000 camry with 400k miles, that gets 26mpg.
