i forgot the 2 -10 mm nuts on the passenger side of the manifold and the 2 that holds the throttle plate..on the throttle plate side..the bracket has 2 15mm bolts that must be loosened off the cylinder head to ease removal..

Just replaced intake manifold, egr, and spark plug. Now my car is throwing this code, but wasn't before. What could be the issue?
@alyoungcuda Жыл бұрын
Was it a new manifold and did it come with the Solenoid?
@kayleesears2932 Жыл бұрын
@Al Young Cuda used, stated in working condition. No the solenoids did not come with it. Weird that they were in working condition until the replacement. Car runs just fine I did have codes p1004, and p1404 that are now off. Now it's just the p2017
@kayleesears2932 Жыл бұрын
@Al Young Cuda when I scan it car says it has 2 codes. When I read the codes they are both the p2017, guy said its a pending code, stated car needs to be driven 50 miles for computer to reset. Now I'm just thinking he was a scam and broke something.
@alyoungcuda Жыл бұрын
@@kayleesears2932 used parts are a 50-50 thing , no one really knows why the car or engine ended up in a junk yard, for all we know it could of had this engine defect and set the code on the previous car. But P2017 is a part of the intake manifold, it's a runner position sensor/switch and it opens and closes the intake valve. You will need to check that during the manifold replacement, did someone didn't ug in the sensor, damage the sensor , damage or cut the wire or connector to the sensor, is it a bad sensor or a binding flap that's giving it a hard time...
@kayleesears2932 Жыл бұрын
@@alyoungcuda exactly what I was thinking. I'm going to take my old runner valves from my other intake and put them on to see if that would work. I may just put my old intake on again and replace runner valves since this code didn't happen with the old intake. Thanks for the info!

Fyi that oil doesn't come from your EGR pipe your PCV might be sucking the oil inside the intake

Removed and Cleaned my intake, still coded, replaced runner, still coded, ordered intake, dealer stated on back order, waited for months, turns out no longer sold with all components runners and throttle body. Only part sold now is intake. It's even under a different part number. Installed new intake using autozone runners from previous purchase, still coded, replaced runner from dealer, cleared codes runs great passed smog

Runners you mean the Solenoids in the front? I know the throttle plate is not part of it.
@MagicFalcon5411 ай бұрын
@@alyoungcuda yup. Now when they sell it at the dealer only part that’s sold is the big plastic manifold itself. I literally had my car parked for 6 months waiting for the back order. Came to find out had to order it under a different part number for the plastic manifold only. Probably couldve had my car running fine much earlier had I known it was sold like that.

@@MagicFalcon54 manifold only, still expensive?
@MagicFalcon5411 ай бұрын
@@alyoungcuda when I was waiting for back order part the service specialist told me it was going to come with throttle body and runners (solenoids) and he told me about $1600. After months of waiting for back order I canceled the order. About a year passed and I went back to the same dealership to get an oil change on a different vehicle I own. While waiting in the lounge for my car to get serviced I walked to parts department to see if manifold was now available. Parts guy said the part number didn’t exist anymore and manifold is now sold separately a) manifold b) throttle body c) runners (solenoid) so I purchased the intake $1147+tax about $1280
@alyoungcuda11 ай бұрын
@@MagicFalcon54 the local dealers here wanted 800 to 1k , I ended buying online from a dealer for 600 with the shipping and it came with the solenoids, no throttle body.

Thanks for the video. I've acquired a 2007 Touring just like yours (color and all) my mom purchased new (She bought a new Cadillac). It had only 80,000 in December, and 89,000 now. I've been getting the same two codes the last couple of months that reappear after clearing immediately upon start up. The car runs fine, and I'm getting 24-25 mpg. No emmision testing here in rural Georgia. What are the dangers of ignoring it? I ain't gonna pay $1000, or even bother taking the manifold off if there isn't any further damage to occur. I hate the light being on, but will scan it weekly as other codes could pop up and I not know it.
@alyoungcuda Жыл бұрын
It will fail the inspection with the light on if its required in your state, but they run perfectly with those codes
@yomuno2511 Жыл бұрын
@@alyoungcuda Thanks. Atlanta has inspections, but I live outside the area that requires testing. I may take the actuator off and see what I can do, but that's about it, as removing the whole manifold and cleaning is only a 50% chance of fixing it. I now see this post is 6 years old. Still have the 300? How's it running and how many miles on it? Thanks again for responding. I've been to Philadelphia a few times, Amtrak Crescent 🌙 from Atlanta and stayed in West Allegheny (near Pep Boys HQ).

Dustin NE Philly the white looking gasket is just a different brand. Most likely he just put in a new gasket, which happens to be blue, which most likely is felpro brand. Done several of these.

Why do all these 3.5 v6 all have different manifeolds/short runner/tunning runner??.?? I see 2.5 engines with no tuning runner and I’ve seen 3-4 different 3.5 models , some with no passenger side/tunning runners, and other 3.5 with both 2 runner valves but completely different?😂😂😂😂 I bought a used manifold with both runners thinking it was the same as my engine but both runners have a completely different harness plug 😂😂😂😂😂 I just figured”wow ok new but used manifold with new looking runner valves but I swapped manifolds today And both runner harness wouldn’t fit into mine!! But but, I did change my spark plugs and looked like they been sitting at the bottom of the sea they were so rusty af and spark tip had a huge gap! No where near the .05 gap new ngk platinums I used 😂😂😂😂 200k miles, I used my old manifold and went for a test drive and no more check engine light? Could code p1004 possibly mean “bad spark plugs”🤔🤔🤔🤔 (hope my story helped others) but if anyone needs this manifold I got, it’s pretty much new and I got it used from a guy that’s swapping his engine to an rt and manifold is complete I have
@alyoungcuda5 ай бұрын
Unlikely its the plugs for that code but who knows, by moving things around, maybe you loosened up the runner flaps. As for different manifolds, I saw that too...maybe its from different model cars but same engine.
