It's great that you are complimenting another company in the industry. By all accounts it is a well deserved compliment. Nick Burnham covered this boat recently on his Aquaholic Channel but you will have known that. It is good to see these beautiful boats given another lease of life

Stunning, the £90k you have spent will add £150k at least to the boat, I would have loved to have seen and heard what had been done to the engine and the engine room, lets face it, the thing that scares us all is an engine that will fail a few months after you buy a boat. I love the modern update to this boat, this is one of my favourite boats anyway just because of the ironing board.
@Boatscouk3 жыл бұрын
The ironing board is the ‘closer’ for me too 😂
@darthkek19533 жыл бұрын
It's also the fact there is no way they could buy that old boat for £400k and sell for £450k. Nobody would want it. BUT.... £90K of investment and and this is on the market at £550k and WILL sell.

Stunning refit. Saw it a while back on Aquaholic, and again today on Motor Boat & Yachting. I do think the upstairs table, the edge/fiddle should have been sprayed in a darker colour/black to give it some contrast (a bit like how the downstairs fiddles & edges are black). Not a big deal through.

Buy a preowned boat, sink about 20 -25% of the value of the boat into a refit and bring it up to the what you wanted in the first place. Some areas are going to need more love that others but it will be worth all the cash you put into it.
@Toby_the_Glen3 жыл бұрын
Did the 'refit' extend to any mechanicals? How are those engines holding up?
@Boatscouk3 жыл бұрын
Yes we spent about £7k on servicing and renewing engine room systems 😊
@martigrey58723 жыл бұрын
Is that the one that was on aquaholic? It looks good. A bit expensive maybe. 330k for a used 58 and 90k for a refit. How did you get to 550k? Do ready to sail boats sell at that markup? Did you overpay for the used boat? 500k seems a bit more reasonable.
@Boatscouk3 жыл бұрын
Hi Marti. She is 09 model so c£400k retail value pre refit. £90k on Setag but we also spent more on engineering stuff. So say £520k and then we need to make a small profit and allow for a small discount. It’s all about right and she is unique !
@martigrey58723 жыл бұрын
@@Boatscouk thanks, I just saw the interior pre refit and thought it was one of the oldest, cheapest ones by the looks of it. That seems fair then.

Great refit James but for a couple of things...at 3.21 you said the master cabin looked horrible before and gave us a ‘before photo’. The problem is, it looks exactly the same but for two things, the curtains and the wall covering. The 2nd cabin looks pretty much the same too. I don’t like all the ‘browns’, they’re a bit dated to say the least but the saloon looks great. But I have to say, it can be difficult to see where £90k went. Did they refurb the engines too...I don’t think so?!
