@carrsllccarrillo65072 жыл бұрын
Rich, if there is anything that comes to mind when watching your videos is this: Integrity. It shows how much of a professional you are and how much knowledge you have that many "mechanics" or "parts changes" don't. Now I'm not saying all shops are bad but I had my fair share of vehicle repairs that came from other shops that they displayed shotty work and couldn't solve the problem(s) which eventually when they end up in my hands I end up taking time to do the research and testing to get it fixed right. Keep up the good work and stay the "super sleuth" tech that you are! Have a good one!

Good news Rich. I ended up taking the gamble and got my first manifold done successfully on the Dodge. Broken bolt was flush with manifold not head, and it was about the easiest part in the process (used vice grips). Anyways happy I gave it a try. Working room was not great on the Ram 1500 Hemi, but got it done and she's quiet now. Chopped up the hand a bit with the exhaust flange bolt removal, could not find my mechanic gloves and went ahead anyways. Not sure if the Ford's have better working room, anyways. Learned a thing or two in the process. Taker easy man.

I recommend a shop that does engine replacement for the very thing you're seeing on this car. When they finish a job, other than for the shinny new engine, you can't tell they've been there. All wiring is put back properly and clipped in place just like new... I know this because they don't do AC work, so I recover and then recharge their jobs when done as needed. Seeing neat work makes me feel good about recommending them..Their customer may never know what good work they do, but I do. I too hate shoddy 1/2 way jobs by other shops..

Had a P71 towed in the shop. No crank (cant remember if crank or not) no start. Two ASE Master Techs couldn't figure it out after 2 days each messing with it. One ran a wire under hood cause something wasn't getting power and still didn't fix it. They asked the "stupid oil /tire changer" to look at it (me also ASE Cert - cause I like diag work and some how the Ford Expert which I am not). Can't remember if I had a cluster or not. I started jiggling wire under dash IRC I got cluster lights, try to start and the CEL wouldnt go out during crank. The primary tech who was issued the RO didn't know where I was at with it and called me stupid about the CEL, that I don't know wtf Im talking about, showed him a Scanner Danner diag training video, now he listens to what I recommend him when hes stumpped. I asked him to crank it when I say. lighting moving wires under the PDB Started right up and asked HTF did I do it. Took me about 1hr or 2 cause I observed them when they were messing with it and none of them started with the diag basics checking powers and grounds at the PDB. Blown fuse and broken wire found. Both Master Techs diag it as needs PCM. Passenger seat had two PCMs, bunch of box store code readers, ignition switch, jump packs, batteries, wires, wrong butt-connectors. etc

I deal with a lot of body shops and auction cars and some of the "repairs" I see make me sick to my stomach. Most seem to go out of their way to make things worse than fixing it correctly. Others are completely unsafe and the vehicle isn't road-worthy in my opinion. My favorite is when they cut a harness and just twist all the wires together. 🙄 Can't imagine why all those dash lights are on and all those fuses are blown 🤣

This sort of reminds me of my situation on my Subaru I probably could’ve done the plugs myself but I am a maintenance tech for winery and we’re in Crush/harvest ,working crazy amount of hours so I have the Subaru dealer do the plugs for me and I always check guys work with this clown left all the variable valve timing harnesses unclipped and they were all flopping around next to the exhaust manifold so I put them back in took five minutes to do, then the service manager tells me oh by the way we topped off your wiper fluid and I’m thinking oh great what did they break on that and sure enough they broke the neck off the little clip that holds neck, i’m never going back to the Subaru dealer I found an awesome independent guy is the next town over 20 minutes away but he’s worth it.

I had a 2003 F150 with the 4.6 that lost spark to the #2 cylinder while I was on a trip. The truck had around 5k on the odometer when it happened. The dealer replaced the computer but the truck never ran right. When I got back to where I was stationed, I took it to my dealer and they said it lost compression to the #2 cylinder. Then they said it was ok! My dealer then gave me an extended warranty but the problem got worse. The engine was loosing power, was running badly and my dealer said it was a lean miss🤣. I deployed to Iraq and when I came back the Lemon Law was expired. I was so pissed and sold that truck at a loss with full disclosure! I’m still heartbroken over it!
