Didn't even know about pushing the caliper piston back as my old car didn't need you to do that. This is the only tutorial video that I could find that mentioned it. Almost took my brake pads back looking like an idiot. Thanks for saving my amateur mechanic dignity. 👍

Don't put grease on the top of those pad glides the grease attracts dust and debri and gums up the free movement of the pads

Great video! Though when you are pushing the piston back, it looks like your screwdriver is prying the opposite brake pad away from the rotor. Is that right?

Are the springs a must? I notice there aren’t any when I removed the caliper today.

Anyone know where I can get the wire to hold the break pads out? My Honda kit did not come with these wires, I'm unsure how necessary they are.

My car doesn't have those v springs to prevent the pads from touching the rotor! Do you think that's a problem?

Mine Honda kit did not come with them either. I've installed today without them. Hoping for an answer of how necessary they are.

I’ve never used a torque wrench, I just tighten it down. Figure if I get it snug with a 3/8 ratchet, it will be close to right lol. I may just go pick one up though.

how do you know if u torqued the bolts to the right amount ??
@DantheFixitMan3 жыл бұрын
You will need to use a torque wrench. You might be able to rent one for free from an auto parts store. amzn.to/2VAH666 This is a link to a torque wrench if you decide to buy one. I used to just go by feel, based on the size of the bolts...but just do whatever you feel comfortable with. Thanks for watching! -Dan the Fix it Man

Is the 2007 and 2009 use the same brake pads?
@Debauchery_Tea2 жыл бұрын
A quick search showed that they should. Best bet is to use an auto parts website & plug in your details to be sure.

@@DantheFixitMan ok question about the pin boots one of mine were broken off so only about half of it is on there is that fine? Or do I have to get new boots?
@DantheFixitMan2 жыл бұрын
@@MakeItHappen223 it’s probably ok if you need to get it back on the road in a pinch, but I would recommend replacing them to keep debris from getting into the slide pins and getting them stuck.
