You make it look so easy man... crazy. I have to do same job, it will be my biggest job so far. I've done many things but this one scares me. Do I need anything for the water pump seal? Also how do I make that special tool you did for the crank bolt? Do I have to drain all the coolant or just replace what came out of the pump? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks brother

you have to get a special crank bolt thats made just for a honda.

...I saw on a similar video by Everett's Workshop channel, someone made a comment about using a breaker bar with a socket, placed on the crankshaft bolt. You brace the breaker bar, so that it doesn't move, and then you bump the ignition key a bit, without starting the car, just to get the starter to turn the crankshaft, to loosen the bolt. 🤔 I've never tried this. It would probably help to do it with a Remote Starter Switch hooked up to the starter... The new water pump comes with a new rubber gasket.

My water pump went out.. Car shop wants $508 to change it.. I figure since I have to mess with timing chain Ima pay it but it sucks.. Any advice on my decision? I'm decent working on cars but still an amateur

Do you know if it’s possible to replace the timing belt/chain on a 2007 Accord LX with the 2.4L engine? When I asked at the dealership I was told “it has a lifetime timing chain.” Which meant when I asked further, “that means when the chain goes, the life of the engine is over.” Is this true? Is there no way to replace it? Seems ridiculous, but I’ve heard crazier shit. BTW my car has 275,000 miles on it, so I know the chain has got to be near the end.

Yes. But pulling the chain cover is not easy, in the service manual that is provided to every dealer in it there is a spec for when the chain is stretched and needs to be replaced

You don't want to rotate the cams or crank independently without it being at TDC, you could end up damaging the valves or pistons on an interference engine.

@@PirateGarage nice car man, I have a 2006 6 speed manual with 152K miles on it, I just got it and everything since working fine expect for a squeak it has when it is cold, maybe valve adjustment and possibly steering pump rebuild. I'm not really sure how old the timing belt is but I would hate for it to go while I'm on the road

I hate how they put a timing belt in this engine. I bought a 2005 Honda Accord and as a guy who knows nothing about cars the damn thing snapped on me while driving. I think I only had the car for a year. Lesson learned. She only had 178000 miles. It completely bent all valves. I miss having this v6 engine. Now I have a tiny 4 cylinder civic but at least I pay nothing on gas now.

Honest mechanics are a rarity these days. I live in Minneapolis. How much for labor only please do you think is worth if I get my own parts for timing and water belt replacement for my 07 accord v6? It has 81000 miles on it. I want to make an offer that is an honest quote. If not I fear the mechanics get their parts and charge a huge price which is a dishonest price.

Very vaige video very rarely did you actually explain what you were doing but just taking off parts as you go. I highly suggest using a wooden block next time on the oil pan. The video is supposed to be useful for the common DIY person and explain steps and procedures on what your actual doing and maybe a little more professional.
