Very good video. In doing the same repair on a 99. Ended up having to cut that axle nut off. It was an ordeal. Also i shined up my old plastics with a product called plastic restore, made by car guys. Looks brand new and doesnt wash off. Thanks again for the video.

I’ve had a lot of success using the candle wax trick on stuck nuts and bolts. Touch the heated threads with a candle and let the melted wax get in there and solidify. Helps break the corrosion and acts like a lubricant.

Take a 2nd pipe wrench and put it on the axle with threads opposite of that LH thread stuck nut and let it use the floor to hold steady for you. With it floating you’re not able to have enough shock load kicking it that’s why the hammer did the trick. Sry millwright by trade lol
