Easy axle bearings, ATC / ATV Rear Carrier Axle Bearing install

In this episode, I replace the worn rear axle bearing carrier in my 350x swingarm, including new bearings and seals, I find uncover some pretty bad repairs from the Pervious owner, and have to figure a work around to complete the job.

I absolutely miss my 85X I regret selling mine for down payment on my 400ex not that their was anything wrong but I was young 120lbs and really struggled to hold that beast down on downhills and went through more shoes kicking it and a few lumps on my shin from the kickback. Your ex is beautiful

If it's a 85 you have to use 86 sprocket and bolts. The sprocket and bolts on 86 are tapered. I have same problem the 9nly carrier I could get was 86 and the factory bolts hit.

Great step by step video, hopefully inspires more people to work on their own bikes and do it the right way Bit of personal preference for me but when I get a new carrier like that I like to knock the bearings out and pack them with some good quality grease as I’m a bit dubious with the crappy white paste the come with, never had a failure yet, keep up the great work 👍🏻

Great video! Question: Were there any O-rings that were supposed to be installed on the outside of the new carrier? I noticed the old one you pulled out had a piece of one hanging. The bearing kit I purchased from All Balls (ended up purchasing a carrier with bearings after) came with 2 O-rings and 2 "square" rings.

This was the only one i could find, it did not have any orings. I have not had any issues with it so far.

Hi Jason, download the free manual for your trike, go the the chapter about the clutch, it will show you a picture of it and the location of the cable retainer and the bolt. its the upper right top bolt of the right side case.

Simplemente reemplazaría los cojinetes y los sellos y mantendría el espaciador central original. los rodamientos y sellos vienen en un kit en ebay o amazon.

Is this an 86 because it looks like an 85 brake linkage and an 85 carrier? I dont have an 86 so i dont know them well but i see their 86 plastics soo. I have an 85 needs a carrier and im wondering of the one i have will work it looks just like the one you installed? Thanks Ken

This one is an 85 with 86 white plastic. (Previous owner). Your correct the clutch cable is routed behind the cylinder on an 86 also it would have a different timing chain adjuster.
