Hello, on the sticker issue, you might want to try a thing you can get from an auto paint store. It looks like a big round eraser on a post that you put on your drill.Just be careful not to get the plastic too hot.I ve never used on plastic,but really works great on painted metal surfaces.Hopefully it helps your journey bringing back these wonderfull old machines,thanks for your videoes,very interesting.

It works if you are very very careful with the buffer. Just sand or scrape off the faded or oxidized layer first.

I 2 love to wrench and revive motorcycles and ATV'S and it would appear that you are as OCD as I am, lol. Other than the scooters the best investment I ever made was in a harbor freight bike lift. My wife and kids bought it as a Christmas gift a few years ago and she was able to score a 40% coupon and get it dirt cheap but even at regular prices and a 20% coupon it is damn worth it. Keep wrenching.

You've used lacquer thinner and WD40 to remove stickers. You might think about Zippo fluid. It kills the adhesive and doesn't leave any residue that you then have to clean later. Also it's safe on most plastics.

You are doing a loverly job, that machine will look new by the time your finished :-D. Its well worth taking your time to do it, rushing or forcing yourself to tinker when your not in the mood isnt good. Ive done some evil (get home) bodges, but jamming a lucar connector into a round pin socket isnt one of them. For road bikes, the steering should not have friction, it should drop to the left or right on its own, but not have a sloppy bearing, dont know if that applies to off road machines. Oh Have a loverly and healthy 2017 :-D
@jenniesgarage7 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your kind words. I've found that I'm most always in the mood to tinker, it's just the video editing that gets a little boring. But then when it finally gets uploaded and people like it that makes it worthwhile.
