My Labor book says this job is 5 hours...... I had to check a youtube video, because I thought it was insane. Its not a tough spot like some fwd cars. Thanks for confirming my suspicion. No need to overcharge customer.

So how long its took sir ? 2 hours for both side ?

@@thehegtwith the right tools and a little experience I would say around 1 hr each side. It’ll take a bit longer if any nuts are seized from rust, if you have to replace the boot. A tie rod tool is highly recommended. I’m in the process of changing mine out and thought the boots came with the new tie rods…I was mistaken, now I have to wait until Saturday.

Hi , don’t you need to apply a little grease around ball joints a little bit ?

Not exactly sure what you're asking. Some ball joints are greasable through zerk, others don't take any additional grease.

Any tips for removing the outer tie rod when it’s seized in the inner tie rod? I got the nut loose and got the outer removed from the knuckle but the outer tie rod end is stuck in the inner

getting a wrench on the flat of the inner and heating the outer where it threads on. I'd try that. Heat works good for situations like that most of the time.

I see that there is no stake washer on this tie rod, although there is a spot on the rack for one. Looks like the old one didn't have one either. Strange!

@@CharlesAndCars its a 2006 Hyundai Tucson. i heard that and walked out. granted the car is a front wheel all wheel drive but to move the steering column. maybe turn it straight i can understand but that just sounds off
