Kimi was sensational and it was the most underrated drive this season when you know the context imo. Horrible conditions, Ferrari putting him on the wrong tyres and it dropped him to p21. What an incredible race this is. Rewatching it for maybe only a second time since 2007 (I was 10yo) I'm just stunned by how much constant action there was, and how well James Allen and Martin Brundle did to keep on top of it considering I'm sure technology wasn't as good as it is now with telemetry and what they could see from the comm box TVs. Everything about it for me screams pure nostalgia and what I associate from that era of F1. Honestly makes me a little bit emotional, time moves past so fast. Still can't believe Lewis lost the title from here, maybe one day we'll learn more on why - but I'm happy Kimi took this one as it turned out to be his only one.

One of Lewis Hamilton's most remarkably overlooked victories was a masterclass in wet weather driving. Meanwhile, Toro Rosso experienced a bittersweet moment as they provisionally scored their first point of the season with Liuzzi finishing in 8th place. However, they were stripped of the point because Liuzzi had overtaken under yellow flag conditions, resulting in a 25-second time penalty that relegated him to 9th place. This penalty elevated Adrian Sutil to 8th place, awarding him and the ephemeral Spyker team their first and only point.

When I think about it, this season is quite similar to 1986, another 3 way title race. Lewis would be Nigel Mansell, the young charger that was odds on favorite to win the championship, Alonso would be Nelson Piquet, the wiley old fox & Raikkonen would be Alain Prost, letting the two teammates fight amongst themselves, picking up points when he can & winning races & eventually the championship when everything fell into place.
