Did you ever find what was causing that noise. i have that same noise and been trying to figure out what or where its coming from.

Yes, it was the Tensioner pulley. Just go ahead and replace both pulleys at the same time. The other went out within a month.

I just replaced mine, easy 10 minutes, its like a new jeep now! cant believe how bad it had gotten.

The idler pully under the top radiator hose I had to change on mine.

Wow... that's rough. How long before it got that bad? Mine just started complaining, hope to replace it tomorrow evening.

It started right after I replaced the pump.

Yup. I do believe that is the sound my Jeep is making today! Seems a new problem every month. Ok so new Tensioner pulley- but you said to change both? on a response to someone. What other pulley? My poor Jeep. i love it so but man its becoming hard on the wallet.

Sharon Elizabeth Pritchard see the pulley to the right, the belt goes under it, go ahead and get that one too they are both around $22 ea. Take a look at the belt too.. HTH

my pulley in my 07 jeep wrangler is bouncing up and down and it's making the same noise. It also causing the battery light to turn on. Thank you I have to change the pulley and the belt.

go ahead and replace them both while the belt is off.

when you said both, what exactly do you mean? belt and pulley . If the alternator is good, battery is new, replace the terminals, what would be the cause of my battery light to turn on? would it be the cable connector to the alternator? or the entire harness? what is a better way to test alternator to see if it working correctly? I get CODE P0622 on my jeep and I don't know where to look anymore. please advise
