I have an 05 mean streak 1600 that I purchased May of 2021 with 20k miles on it. I have put just over 10k miles on it in 2 years. It’s such a smooth comfortable riding bike,it’s even nicer with the addition of front floorboards instead of the pegs. This bike has plenty of power and speed for the average rider. I have taken it on several trips to the mountains of North Carolina and Tennessee, and it absolutely handles it like a beast. I enjoy riding this bike so much that when the opportunity presented itself, I actually purchased another one.(02 1500 meanie) purchase cost of both bikes is just under $6000. If you’re thinking about buying one, I highly recommend them.

The bike sounds great, and what a good rider you are: legal speeds, ample following distance, staying more to the right and letting the speeders go ahead. Excellent! That was a pleasant, fun, and stress free ride. Thanks!

Hi I'm a 54, 5.1 female I've had my meanie for 10 year now it's a great bike and fast, great for long long trips. Put a mustang seat on it and your set to go.

Hi. I know it's a late reply. But I'd like to know how you feel about owning a bike that's no longer manufactured. Is it difficult to keep up with maintenance? Is it difficult to find parts when something stops working? Or has it been a fairly reliable bike? I found a 2008 with 8K miles for less than $5000. I'd really like to purchase it but I'm kinda of unnerved about owning a machine that stopped production a decade ago.

@@TheRealJamafrican Sorry for the delay, there are tons of aftermarket parts and original still. It has been very reliable so far, there are a few Facebook groups about the meanie that offer a lot of knowledge for upkeep.

@Xavier Edoh I've considered this about cars in the past, but they stopped making Camaros in 2001 , and it didn't stop sales and parts from being available. There are always after market parts for popular vehicles, and vehicles that they just sold a ton of.

Nice to see a fellow Utahn on here. I live Sugarhouse and knew I recognized those mountains. I'm buying my Vulcan 1600 in 2 weeks and couldn't be more excited.

Hey! What model you getting?

I'm looking at the Mean Streak as well. I've been looking around KSL to find the right one. Where did you get yours?
@lwrdrmdnss9 жыл бұрын
MrHighlandrugby kind of lucked out. There was a guy selling it down in Sandy a couple years ago. Not too many 07 Special Editions were for sale. I seen one on KSL a couple weeks ago, not sure if it's still there though.

I must be "one of those guys" because NOTHING passes me when I'm riding! lol Great video and nice view! May be picking up a "03" meanie on Tuesday (2021) it sounds awesome!

I used to have these fools in big ole diesels or turbo Subarus try and race me at red lights. The only people ever passing me were crotch rockets.

Nice riding Sir! I picked up a 2007 special edition black and red Mean Streak and it handles soooo sweet! My 2015 Boss M109r will slaughter it in a straight line, but the Meanie is just so smooth 🤤 I love it, its hard to pick which to ride when I go to saddle up for a trip, because they are both such nice bikes.

I used a bar clamp mount that was short.

Noice. I rode an ‘03 Meanstreak with cobra straight pipes and I’d put it up against any Harley for sound. I sure miss that Beast.

1997TL1000 I'm actually in Salt Lake. I would love to plan a ride down there or to Laughlin. Last summer I didn't ride much.

I really would like to know how the ride is? Im coming from a Suzuki gsxr so I know that sitting on a rock would be just a comfortable. But is this a good bike to and from work/ long distance ride?
@lwrdrmdnss10 жыл бұрын
It is very comfortable for me, I am 5'10" 230 and have hit some pretty big dips and suspension feels fine. I have been on a ride for 130 miles straight and was good the whole way. I don't have anything to compare it to but it would be fine for long distance or work.
@brandam417910 жыл бұрын
lwrdrmdnss Thanks for getting back to me. I have about three 2007's on craigslist with all being under 6000 miles for around $6000 which sounds like a really good deal.
@lwrdrmdnss10 жыл бұрын
Brandon Dame that is! I picked up my 07 for $5800 with 8000 on it. Very well worth it for what you get in a bike.

lwrdrmdnss Update. I purchased a 2005 mean streak with 3700miles on it for $5500. Super clean with saddle bags, after market handles and foot pegs, windshield, mustang seat, power commander and vance and hines pipes. Super nice bike. Really heavy but I will get used to it. Im going to take it in to kellys kawasaki and have all fluids replaced and I should be good to go. Love this bike.

Brandon Dame Good choice, congrats man! Be careful out there and enjoy your ride!

Xavier Edoh there are so many aftermarket parts you can find, I have no worries. A lot of parts are common and are still being produced.

I'm 6'2" and about 280, looking at a '05 for just under $6K and 930 something miles...After reading some of these posts, I'm thinking this is a better deal than I thought but, do you think it'd be comfortable for my fat azz? LOL
@lwrdrmdnss9 жыл бұрын
You will probably want to extend the foot pegs and maybe put a heavier spring in the front forks but I think you'll be ok without it.
@MrSteve47268 жыл бұрын
did you ever get that bike? I'm about to pick up an 06 in a day or 2, and I'm 6'4" 260lbs. I test drive it and know I'll need forwards sooner than later, but man, it's such a nice ride!
@bryb94428 жыл бұрын
Hey MrSteve, no I ended up getting a 2014 Yamaha Stryker instead, also lost about 40 lbs LOL.
