I just bought this bike in orange. I am a sports bike rider but now 40 years old with bad knees and a bad neck and back. I never wanted a cruiser because I love speed so I bought this bike because it looks sporty and I can still race people 😂 I didn’t want a old man cruiser. I am 6’2 and wanted a big bike to stretch out on.

You made the right choice. The m109r has more power and very reliable and cheaper parts and less to buy. I would own the m109r over Harley’s and other bikes 10 out of 10 times. All my friends have Harley’s and other cruisers and I beat their ass every single ride and my m109r didn’t cost close to half of their bikes. I go full throttle every single time and never had a problem yet friends with Harley’s keep breaking down doing the speed limit on brand new Harleys. I have a bad back and neck and knees and always rode sports bikes but could not ride them any more so I wanted a sorts looking cruiser with a lot of power and the m109r is the way to go.

Agreed !. Harley’s are nice , some of them . Specially latest models because they’re trying to attract younger riders . But they sell exclusivity not bikes

@@popeyesmotovlog5440 Yea, i can see where it is intimidating. I came over from a Katana 600 sold it because cops in PA are not the greatest with bikes. I purchased this bike and have really grown to love it even though i was terrified of it at first!

Awesome review. I own a 08 sunset orange m109r. I absolutely love mine and I came from a busa. Engine braking is not bad above 3rd gear.

Great write up. Agree with everything you said! An ECU flash will get rid of the herky jerky feeling down low when you're going slow. I have quite a few mods done to mine. ECU tune by BCS really smoothed her out .

@@popeyesmotovlog5440 I have a swingarm mount plate on mine. Really cleans it up. I ran a 240 and then a 260 on stock wheel. upgraded to a 10" wheel and went a 280. Currently settimg up a 300 in the back with a 2 piece swingarm. Stay safe as well my friend!

M109R is my first bike.I think if you get the ecu flashed it takes care of some of the engine braking.

Thanks for a great vid! I’m actually about to buy a 2008 but I am a bit worried about that possible “second gear failure” where the 2nd just suddenly goes to N. Apparently expensive to fix because gears and engine are designed as they are in theses bikes. Any thoughts regarding that? As said, great video! Cheers/Heikki, Stockholm Sweden

Thank you so much for the feedback . If it’s a 2008 and it has a good ammout of miles , chances are that bike might have already had that issue and it’s been fixed . However I also heard it’s an inevitable issue with the M109R. Specially those older models . So it’s really all about taking the risk . Good luck to you and Ride safe my guy 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Florida Brother 🙏🏻. Absolutely love the M109r ! I ended up not doing it because I realized that engine breaking might act as a safety feature !.. actually getting a Can Am within the next 2 weeks !. I’m still on the search for more comfort !: but the M109r it’s definitely my favorite.

Thank you very much for that feedback !. Honestly yes I think Matte Black looks better . I am not huge into Chrome but I love how this blue one looks with Chrome. If you get this exact blue then yes you will love it !. But other than that I would say Go with Matte black . It gives it that mean, stealth look !!. You ll love it !.
