I don’t think you’ll find a more improbable playoff run. Beating the Cowboys and Packers on the road who were both 13-3 and then beating the 18-0 Patriots. They beat the 3 best teams in the league in a row

They had an elite defense. They started the season horribly but as for the season after their first month they showed they could beat anyone. Hell they almost beat the patriots at the end of the season before the playoffs. To think this run was more improbable than Nick Foles throwing a perfect passer rating against the Vikings number 1 defense and to beat Brady WHILE Brady threw for more yards than anyone in playoff history is a joke. The 2017 Eagles are easily the most improbable story in the Super Bowl era. The eagles were picked to lose every single game from week 13 all the way to the Super Bowl🤦 Experts said giants could win only if they win with defense. They did. Experts said even with good defense Foles was gonna lose by 30 and it would be the worst Super Bowl ever. Instead it broke multiple records and is recognized at anywhere between the greatest whistle to whistle Super Bowl or at least top 3. (In the nfls own words) Combine both the first and second scores of the pats in the giants Super Bowl wins (14 points and 17 points) and it’s still less than what he scored against an eagles team who won with a back up QB, an undrafted rookie with clement who did more than the rest of the RBs that game, with a TD pass thrown by a 3rd string TE..

Then in the playoffs, Eli leads the Giants to fewer points and is called the hero in a low scoring game? Please tell me you understand how this just doesn't make sense.

@@tomknapp6194 grandpa, if you seem to know so much about football (quality over quantity btw.), I pray you have realised at some point the difference between regular season football and playoff football. those are two separate pair of shoes. patriots were also stellar on defense that year, as they were most years with brady but who am I telling, football guy already knows that (btw., eli put up the most points on them in a single game that year, by a touchdown). so let's say the 07 season was won by chance and a great defense. I guess the same will be said about the 11 run by salty massholes?

As a Giants fan, this was the greatest game I’ve ever seen. And the most exhilarating. I remember holding my breath when Eli looked like he was getting sacked in the final minute of the game…only for him to somehow escape, throw this improbable throw…and SOMEHOW find David Tyree, who made the catch of a lifetime, with ONE HAND. That made me a believer, made me really think the Giants could do the impossible and defeat the undefeated. And once Burress caught that end zone TD, my family and I jumped to our feet in pure joy. I knew that we had just watched our team complete the playoff run of a lifetime. One of my favorite memories.

This one is up there with the Jan 1991 Championship against SF. It was insanely bitter cold here in Michigan that day as I watched these men play in even colder weather a bit to my west, and I was so happy to be indoors chilling with my cats and drinking coffee instead of getting frostbite.

Giant defensive line + were the real MVP's. This was no fluke. Brady was subpar missing receivers many times because pressure and pounding took its toll and effected greatly his play. If not for wes Walker who knew how to get open, catch the ball, and run with it, it would have been even more one sided in favor of giants defense. Also, patriot defense was not too good against weak giant offense with eli manning.

I just returned from a deployment in Afghanistan a couple of months prior and was stationed at Fort Drum. The weather there that day was about the same as in Green Bay. I didn’t think that the Giants, my favorite team, had a chance to beat GB. This was a typical Giants team, strong defense with just enough offense to keep us fans from having a heart attack. I didn’t have any confidence in Tynes before he kicked that game winning field goal, but it was Party Tynes when it was true.

Born and raised in Green Bay, WI . I played QB growing up in high school then in college , the highest compliment you could receive growing up playing quarterback in Wisconsin is you reminded someone as “Brett Favre”. My Dad was my coach growing up and had that old school approach when the weather got cold it meant I better not be wearing long sleeves and we damn sure better win the game that day. Brett Favre’s win/loss record in the cold at home was amazing at the time! I was down in Iowa for my Freshman year of college, after finishing my first season. 2 of my WR’s and three offensive lineman were from New York. I was the only player on our team from Wisconsin besides our punter lol. I had just been given a BRAND NEW flat screen LED TV (all legal if the NCAA asks lol), so I invited about 13 of my teammates over , 12 black guys from New York, Texas, Los Angeles and then myself and the little white punter. Lol I had about 12 different bets on this game. Never thought in a MILLION years the Packers would lose. It would be too perfect for Favre to win one more just like Elway did on his way out. I never had so much fun , kicking it with my team and my guys but yet felt so sick after it all ended. People in the media who have no clue about the game of football itself want to yell and scream about “diversity” and all this other BS. Trust me man with out the game of football my path would have never crossed paths with these inner city kids , and we were both blessed to meet one another. White men possess and excel at certain things in sport and life and black men possess and excel at others it’s the combination of them that make truely GREAT teams. Great , great coaches are a higher percentage white, why? Because most of the guys are about 5’6” tall and maybe played the game but we’re not gifted the size to do anything with their knowledge of the game so they figure out real early they will find most success in coaching . Most black young men don’t lack the athletic capabilities but grow up most times without father figures , guidance or structure …. When these two can mesh and feed of another everyone benefits . The GREAT quarterbacks or any QBs for that matter will largely remain white, kickers, punters, same situation. Running backs , WRs defense will remain highly athletic positions and remains predominantly black. There will ALWAYS be crossovers , and as our society changes over the next few decades hopefully it’s an equal mix everywhere . You have your Patrick Mahomes half white half black , you Have Christian Mccaffrey , Cooper Kupp, Travis Kelsey. No one gives the NFL credit for this but there was a MAJOR reverse racism card being pulled in the 80s/90s2000’s NFL, scouts and GMS would not seriously scout white WRs, RBs or even Tight Ends. How can white people outnumber blacks 3 to 1 but blacks out number whites 3 to 1 in the NFL? Thank God for the JJ Watts, TJ Watts, Nick and Joey Bosas, Jordy Nelson’s, Cooper Kupps and Christian McCaffreys, I just hope CJ Stroud, and the other Black QB coming out of the draft this year can cement their names now. I have never been sold on Lamar and am afraid his career may be ok a downward spiral

For me the 2007 NFC championship was just something that i never on earth imagined we could've achieved until we did. Cause the Packers and the Cowboys were both the best NFC' teams, Eli didnt have any playoff game where he passed the 200 yrds untill this game at Green Bay. The stars were alined in this season for us become champions, because we were not the best team at all.

@@is8807 Eli had more yards in 4 games than pro bowl QBs had in 3 games?!!?!?? You don't say!!!! Yeah, most pro bowl QBs had a first round bye in which it was impossible to have them play 4 games to compile stats. Let's be fair. Let's take the QBs that had 3 or 4 games and compare their yards/game. Eli is no longer #1. He's not in the top 10. He's 14th. His yards/attempt are19th. Seriously, almost every aspect of his career look impressive, until it is put in perspective and then, Eli is below average.

@@tomknapp6194 lol I only mentioned Eli holds the record for passing yards and completions during a single post-season (which is a fact) because you claimed he was carried by his defense in 2011, which is clearly not the case when you literally watch the games and look at how Eli played statistically and visually. I mean seriously why are you hating so bad. He put up 37 against Green Bay and threw one of the best throws of all time during the GW drive against NE in the Super Bowl. He was anything but carried by his defense in 2011. Cope harder.

If it’s a Giants-49ers playoff in SF, something crazy is gonna happen. 1990: most physical game ever. Marshall mimics Burt’s attempted homicide of Montana from 4 years previous. Reasons Fake punt, Craig fumble. Hostetler hangs in there after Burt’s (now with SF) cheap shot. Bahr FG. Giant Upset. 1993: 44-3. Ricky Watters. Shocking for LT and Simms to get blown out like that in last game of their careers. 2002: Bar-room brawl. 2011: Another punishing defensive game. Muffed punt. Eli hangs in there after having his face drilled in the mud. Another muffed punt. LT3 FG. Another Giant upset.
