I like the way you put this in a poor boy perspective. We would all love to have a lift but that is just not the case for men starting in the trade. Nissan saved the trade name datson but it was nissan in the first place. Times were different then and competition was huge. The best this and that flooded advertisements on tv and radio then. I'm retired, 72 now and have done most any older rig. I found that if I could see how a car was assembled in the first place then it was apparent how to take apart. Some were not really designed to take apart. Never seize wasn't used at the factory to keep things from growing together and so you cursed under your breath as you bent or shoved the metal so to forgive the plan of attack. It was a nissan P.U. that nearly ate my lunch as it is very hard to remove from the bottom with engine in. I got it out and did all the right things I thought... thought! The pivot pin on the bellhousing for the shift fork was so worn and I never inspected it so the first push on the pedal and it broke off which was actually part of the problem that I didn't diagnose So little room and so hard to remove... I did a no no. I cut the bell housing and got room to put a new shift pivot pin in so the fork could actuate. Then with my spool gun welded the side of cast aluminum case back. It was the bell housing and only removed just enough to do this task and even then show me little mercy. Hours later it was done and very strong with all things factored in. It stood the test as that kid who owned the truck could break a anvil in a feather factory and I only charged for the clutch swap, not my short comings. I did everything by myself when I had a broken arm myself and was in constant pain just thinking about this job that paid little. When the kid tried to pay half and pick it up, I stopped him in his tracks... He tried to muccel me but he forgot I'm ex army recon ranger. I put him on his ass quicker than you spell cat. He paid in full with hundred dollar bills and then wanted more stuff done but I was done with him and his jury rigged truck which I found later was a stolen rig. When it come across my tow truck hot sheet, I took the cops right to his house where he was found with underage girls and coke. Oh I wish I had hurt him bad then! Bad guys don't always have their way

@onlyme8870 Жыл бұрын
@ricardomendozaobregon5001 the shop said they rebuilt the transmission. It was repaired 2x. My brother said he's not a mechanic but was unable to go past 1st gear. I found a valve body for 150 and I did the work myself and it ran fine til he drove it without oil a seal.let go and he ended seizing the motor that's what AAA said. I ended up pouring in seafoam and let it sit for a few days and it finally cranked over. So at least it could be started and sold it to the junk yard. So from my point of view they never fixed it as they did a rebuild but I personally think or know now it was the valve body the whole time.
