I love KZbin, but only because of awesome people like you who take the time to help a complete stranger like me! Thank you for this 🙂

Man I'm getting ready to do this, and I was saying to myself "I've got so much more sludge in my sprocket cover"... then I saw your comment. Yeah, I definitely lube every other fuel tank. Not sure it gave me any extra mileage, but it is much messier! Peace of mind I suppose at least.

Great video! Have you ever set the chain slack by compressing the rear of the bike such that the countershaft sprocket, rear sprocket and swingam pivot bolt are in alignment? I understand that in this position, you can functionally have minimal to zero slack in the chain. If a person were to do this, you could then put the bike in gear, rock it onto the center stand, roll the rear tire rearward to get the largest slack measurement in the lower section of the chain and see how much slack there is in the lower section of chain. Once done, you could use this measurement for this bike (I have a 2020 V Strom 1050 but the same measurement would work) for as long as you owned it. I’ll try to do this myself but maybe you have already taken that measurement and could pass it along. Thanks.

On my 2015 1000 I have to set it at an 1.5in of slack when it's on the rear stand, not the center stand. Any less than that it is very tight when sitting on it.

Nice video, as always. Question, is your lift a harbor freight lift and if so have you found it worth the money?

It is a harbor freight, and yes it's worth the money. Not getting on the floor to work on your bike is priceless.

@@VStromGarage Thank you, I think it's worth a shot, to get off the knees at least. Did you do any modifications to it or use it as it came?

@@JohnDavis-ij4rm I used a different wheel chock, it's the one from HF that's for a trailer. It's good for the vstrom, but rear sport bike tires ie. 180 width doesn't fit.
