The best video that I can find on KZbin about ecotech engine removal and installation. I cannot believe how many tutorials I found on , ecotech engine removal and installation , thank you for the unrivaled and well informed and educated video ! Because of your help you have saved me a ton of work !!! Your tutorial is directly to the point and very informative. I like the fact that you tell each and every size wrench and tool that will be needed, that is something that most tutorials lack. I enjoyed watching your video and Finally , watching someone who knows exactly what they're doing with precision. Thank you , to say that your tutorial is unmatched , is Truly an understatement to say the least and by far , the most educational and informative. By the way in my opinion not that it matters but through my experience with busting knuckles on cars all my life Echotechs SUCK !!!!!!

No too bad of a job replacing that engine. Oh man, that oil filter cap brings back some bad memories when I was helping my nephew change the oil for the first time on his Cobalt. A gorilla must have put that cap on, even with the special socket I thought I was going to break it trying to get it loose. I'm sure the Jiffy Lube place he went to didn't bother to put some silicone paste on that oring. Nice seeing you back. OKAY BYE!

If you just needed to pull the transmission on this car...what's the easy way? Top, side, or drop the whole cradle?
@jackdonkey22 Жыл бұрын
Bottom. Put the back wheels on some 6*6 sized blocks of wood, or a bit larger,. Then put some 6 ton jack stands to hold the front of the car up. Then use the $130-150 harbor freight transmission jack, the scissor one. You'll have to support the engine from the top. I used 3 2*4s i had glued together and a ratchet strap. The hardest part is getting the fuse box out of the way.

good video and got the engine swapped out with a new one and everything is finished but I cannot get more than one torque converter bolt in! The other 2 will start to tighten and then get loose and not thread anymore. I can see the threads of the torque converter but the bolts will not thread in through the flexplate.
@RustBeltAuto Жыл бұрын

@@davidfecteau7478 also make sure all your grounds are connected and take a pic of where they’re at before you disconnect anything I believe there’s 3 ground 1 in the front 1 in the back near the starter and 1 on the side near the upper radiator hose that runs into the engine block and please make sure your fuel line is on the right way because the pressure of it will cause it to blow the fuel pump and it’s about $500 for a new fuel pump and a lot of work dropping the fuel tank.

Regarding your bolt torque info....did you find torque specs in a manual or does the bolt shank diameter and length .....bolt size....determine the torque, i.e., will a size “A” bolt call for the same torque regardless of location or application? Or probably two ratings....one for insertion into aluminum, and one for into steel? Thanks for your videos and expertise. Dave in Omaha
