@shagboys22513 жыл бұрын
Hi, I believe that plug is for an accessory, I think it may not be used on all sleds. You may not have the accessory on your sled and I think you can leave it unplugged

Great video. I'm having the exact same problem on the exact same sled. Starts by crossing the solenoid only. Solenoid is ok, start button is ok. I'm thinking it's a relay as well. Please keep me posted if you find the problem. Thanks

I will post another video soon, I haven't figured it out yet. I actually think it is a diode in the wiring harness. Unfortunately, I cannot test for it yet. I will keep you posted

Found the problem on mine. Check the low voltage connectors on the solenoid. I tightened the clips and the start button works every time now.

You actually didn't have to remove those 4 screws connecting the 3 windshield pieces just pop them off from the bottom and the whole whindshield comes off

I know this is an old video, but did you ever find the issue for the starter button not working? My 2013 xrs 800 is doing the same thing. I can jump the posts on the solenoid and it fires right up and works perfect. The RER/start button works perfectly fine while running, going into reverse and back without issue, so I ruled out the switch, I replaced the solenoid, and the fuses, and still no go. I took off the hood to look at the wiring and can’t seem to find any issues 🤷♂️ There doesn’t seem to be a “relay” that I can replace, so I’m nervous it is a computer issue. I’m kinda stumped… hoping you found something I may have overlooked. I’m tempted to just add a momentary switch to go direct to the solenoid if I can’t figure this out, but would hate to modify it. Thanks!
@shagboys22514 ай бұрын
I did not, I traced it as best as I could. I found out that the wiring harness had been replaced. And I think it was not correct. I ended up putting a pull start on.
@HammyHammbone4 ай бұрын
@@shagboys2251 I figured it out a few months ago luckily. I checked all grounds and everything was clean and good. I replaced the starter solenoid in hopes it was a cheap fix, but no cigar. Replaced the relay (also cheap), and it was fine as well. I didn’t think it was the start switch, since the reverse function worked perfectly when running. A continuity test showed that the switch was functioning “properly”. It turns out, the switch was faulty and was not allowing enough voltage to pass through to activate the starter solenoid. When I finally did a voltage test, it was low. As the “M/S” button on my switch assembly had already fallen off during a previous ride, I wanted to replace the switch assembly anyway, so I coughed up the $200 and ordered one on eBay. Once I installed the new switch, everything worked perfect again. Start, reverse, and all the other functions were good to go. Of course, I finished all of this just in time for the snow to melt for the season lol 😆

Just for future projects to take the seat off look under the front part of the seat and look for a white plastic lever, pull up on it, and push the seat back. Takes like 5 seconds. Owned my Rev-xp for 3 years and just found out about it!

Hi Brian, I did not figure out the switch yet. I actually think the problem is in the wiring harness. It looks like the wiring harness was replaced and it may not be correct for the sled

Hey Shag lots of extra work my 03 is so simple compared to the 12. I ha e a new sled coming soon as well I am buying the twin to Gary's XRS. You don't know if he had any issues with his. I gave up drinking 2 years ago and the money I saved is buying me a new sled. My Boys are more excited than I am. Hopefully I can figure out how to upload to KZbin and get some videos out there we'll take care and say Hello to the boys for me. Stay Safe and stay healthy. Keep the vids coming great job pal.

Hi Mike. I did check the solenoid and it works when I put power to it. What was your brother’s solenoid doing
