Here is a step by step video of the fast and easy mod to your CBR1000RR that doesn't cost you anything.
In this video I'm demonstrating on a 2014 CBR1000RR.
This mod does not increase performance and it is purely to increase the exhaust sound at idle. Usually on the stock exhaust the flapper is closed by default which makes the bike sound really quiet and opens up around 6500RPM. My research has convinced me that this mod will not decrease the performance of the bike either.
This mod will work on 2008 to 2015 CBR1000RR.
*If you choose to carry out this modification, perform this at your own risk*
Thanks for watching the video and enjoy the bike.

Why? Stock looks a million time better than any cheap shitty slip on available. Compounding this fact is the fact that companies will charge you $500+ for a $30 piece of miter cut steel. Dumb.

@@BomboDommit I am so happy to see a comment which I wanted to make in every forum. In most big capacity machines stock exhaust sound so much melodious than those cheap pricey , noisey aftermarket tin cans..... Anothercommon contagious disease is fitment of tail(un)tidy . I wonder why authorities are not taking any action against these two issues even in developed countries ?. Strict action is taken here in India , especially south India. Here we sieze these things ,crush and return back.....😀

Isnt that there for like, even power distribution. Hows dat low end/midrange power now?
@RaidenXXII
@RaidenXXII 7 жыл бұрын
I felt there is no change if any I felt there is more torque low to mid rpm but the change and all this is neglect-able since it depends on other factors such as fuel, air temp, humidity etc...

You could just try the mod and if you don't like it you can always reverse it.

+Valcrist De Rais Great mod if you just want a bit of exhaust sound but don't want to spend thousands on the exhaust system.

Becky York that's true Becky I felt the same the flapper was restricting the power and I think it's there to pass the noise emission.

If you are disabling the flapper, couldn't you just pepperpot it with a drill bit to much the same effect?
@RaidenXXII
@RaidenXXII 8 жыл бұрын
I am not familier with pepper pot. The exhaust muffler is designed so at around 6500rpm the flapper will open up. This is to meet the emission and torque low to mid in 1st and 2nd gear and the flapper mod reduce torque slight in the low to mid but it's barely noticeable but the noise gain makes it worth while.

What I am saying is that unclipping the brake servo cable totally disables the flapper 100%, and the exhaust at low revs is much louder. But another idea would be to leave the cable in place, insert a power drill into the exhaust and drill 6, 10 or 12 holes in the flapper until you get the noise you want. More holes = more noise.

Yes I believe you can do that and some people go extra steps to have the flapper completely removed from the muffler and the cable but that requires more work. My video is long because it's my first time doing it at the same time as filming. I put the cable back on a few months later to compare how much torque I was loosing and it was mininum so took the cable back off and that took less than a minute. Anyway it's a good option for people like me who don't want to drill and cut and chop the bikes and leave it looking stock. It's a free mod that won't make any changes. I really can't justify spending hundreds getting exhaust slip on just for sound. Unless you want to have the CF look muffler but not just for sound.

buy doing this did you get any type of F1 code on your display because I jus brought one with it disabled and im getting an error code the seller insured me it was because of the custom exhaust tip and that the flapper wasn't connected
@RaidenXXII
@RaidenXXII 8 жыл бұрын
No I didn't get F1 error light. You have to rotate back the servo back to it's original position or you will get F1 error light. I tried to see if the servo would rotate back by it self but it didn't a few weeks later when I put the flapper back on to compare how much torque did I lose with the flapper mod. I did the flapper mod again straight away during the ride I didn't like not having any sound.

If you can afford an expensive liter bike you should have money to spend on a nice exhaust setup. I have a 2 bro exhaust with a custom s midpipe. And it's sounds lovely
