you are the best thank you so very much. i've asked the dealers and they will not tell you. thanks my oil light come on and i have a 1000 miles before an oil change. now i know how to check it. so i won't worry to take it for a oil change so early each time.

+teresa satir Lol, it's in the owner's manual... why wouldn't the dealer tell you.

When I get to the Oil screen it says "Inactive" how to activate it? Thanks.
@Edwin-km4xk4 жыл бұрын
You don't need to press on the gaz pedal for it to work. Leave it 2-3 minutes idling on startup and it will show the result

I use the dip stick to check the state of the oil and level for all i know.. they probably haven't even change the oil for 9,000 mile but i wont know because because it doesnt give me an option..

I have a 1986 ford bronco with a 351W. That's all I'll ever drive. I don't have to worry about all of the crazy sophistications that modern cars have. I can service it myself and it has a transmission and oil dipstick.

I too have a 70 ss el camino with a 396, and a jeep with a 289 small block in it and love the ease of the things you speak of. But when i drive my 328 BMW nothing else feels like it and the luxuries it has is amazing. Car fits you like a glove so its all how you want to drive. Long road trips its my BMW.

This is stupid first of all you can't check the state of the oil secondly of the car is sitting for 3 years without running the engine,the oil will have went to the oil pan you wouldn't know your oil level if you did not start your car but if it's sitting for 3 years well could not have oil at all but you wouldn't know till sou start the car and then too late engine damage German stupid engineers too hard to put a dipstick

my engine oil level is just under max so like 75% is that ok?
@HansDelbruck539 жыл бұрын
You probably want the oil level at the optimum level rather than the maximum level. I'd check the owner's manual to see what the proper level should be.
@ACURACALABAR112 жыл бұрын
7 years later n u wrong. U always want the oil on the max level. Thats the 6.7 litre i believe. Even when its between min n max. Its ok because te engine can still operate safely but max is where suppose to be

I dont understand how you don't have a dipstick. Anyone can change the computer status.
Next time hit pause video recording till it warms up. That wait was painful on video but thanks. First time not seeing a dipstick . wth

Interesting that when people buy the car, they dont ask the dealer how to do it before they leave the lot? Just drive off, buy it new, don’t bother to figure out how to do it? Pretty stupid

how could they do this to you innocent people. a job that took less than 20seconds has become a 2-3min endurance test. got to warm it up on requires a top up go to the hood poor some oil in go back check the reading needs more run back to the hood.
@JackRR158 жыл бұрын
+Max Wellness Well you always had to warm up your engine to check the oil even with a dipstick. But I must say it is dumb no dipstick but at the same time I like it that it's electronic.

***** It's techy and I love tech and electronic stuff.

***** I mean, it's not that bad of time consuming. know for a fact the new iDrive BMWs you just go to vehicle info and then check oil level. It's not even a minute probably. And even then 2 minutes is not to long either...
