John h he was ahead enough not to push so hurt that engine. He would have thought that he was in the last lap and the engine was far too wasted.

@tankmaster10188 жыл бұрын
I still think that this is easily one of the best if not THE best Supercross races I have ever seen. Who else remembers watching this live with their fucking jaw hanging open from the track conditions? And seriously, Reed's bike failing on the second to last turn still has to be one of the most shocking/disappointing/unexpected twists I have ever seen in a race! Honestly, this race was much closer to an Enduro race then a Supercross race. Who's bike is still working at the end??? YOU WIN!
@gypsykingg7 жыл бұрын
tankmaster1018 The best SX race ever was Orlando, 2007. It was an epic 20 lap battle between James and Ricky - RC's last battle with JS and the #7 prevailed.

Chad reed is such a dirty rider! Not trying to be a hater because he could SMOKE me but man you can not cut the track like that. Of course it's hard in deep mud like this but still not an excuse. Awesome race!
@smokingcookies947 жыл бұрын
Not an excuse, but you either make a split decision, cut the track and save the crash, or stay on the track, crash, and probably end up in 20th+ place at the end.

Having my bike die like that on one of the last turns in a race this big would have reduced me to tears live on television... Can't imagine a more brutal way to lose the Daytona then that, especially when you worked as hard as Reed did to come back over and over again after his minor crashes earlier in the race. Not a big fan of Chad Reed myself either, but there isn't a single time I've watched this clip and felt any feelings towards him besides soul crushing sorrow and sympathy. On the other hand, how cool would it be to be Kevin Windham who probably already resigned himself to not even placing in the top 3, and then you turn the last corner and see the checkered flag... I would have thought I was dreaming honestly!
