There was also an MXGP race in Charlotte that Tomac won and I believe they both road WW Ranch, but I can't remember who won that one. They have both beat each other multiple times. There is no debate. The Euros are not faster. Especially when you add in all the other factors. They are all bad fast on a bike.

Great ride but Tomac still wasn’t at the top of his game like the previous year he and Sexton had one of the best MX seasons ever. But as far as answering a question about American riders on European soil, I thought RC, Stewart and many others answered that long ago? Even with likes of RC beating 4 strokes on his Honda CR 250 2-stroke. Great riders are great riders, regardless of their country.
@bleukeylock

Yeah that season when tomac and sexton battled outdoors was quality.. the racing they both showed was insane at times!! Has to be one of the best ama outdoors seasons ever! Yeah Americans have definitely come over and rode amazing and won in Europe before.. I kinda wanted to tie the question in and link if with people saying tomac hasn’t and couldn’t ride on a European track against herlings and the rest, in that debate people would always say tomac won’t go to Europe and race because Americans can’t ride European tracks 👊🏻

Yes and even further back the 1986 MXdN teen USA embarrassed the world. Johnny O’Mara, Ricky Johnson and David Bailey laid such a beating on them it was unbelievable, Johnny O’Mara riding a production CR125 caught passed and pulled away from David Thorp on a full factory CR500 on a track that rewards horsepower, they all won. And don’t forget about Danny Magoo Chandler, winning every single moto at his MXdN

I couldn't agree more with this comment. I've been involved with the sport for nearly 30 years and 2022 was one of the best years in moto from SX all the way through Des Nations. The Tomac Sexton outdoor battle was one of the best I had seen since Ricky and Stew.

At least Eli was man enough to go to mxon, because he lives his country and although he had niggling injuries he stood up, where as deegan was afraid of being smoked because he can't ride rough rutted tracks so he turned his back on america and made up excuses that if he went he wouldn't have enough time to prep for A1, yet Brian keeps telling us how confident his boy is, and he's ready, clearly Brian hasn't talked to haiden, because haiden did not think he was ready for A1, and clearly needed more practice 😂😂, poor baby.

Feel like people forget the dominance the US had worldwide from '05-11; 6 wins with only 2 races in the US. GP riders have stepped it up in a big way since then. @@Boomboom-ox9hn I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt since English is likely your second language. I have seen Herlings on sand tracks, the Netherlands is full of them and that’s his favorite surface. The advantage would be significant. But that’s why I said the second race would be on a Supercross track, specifically Daytona. If you think Eli “crumbled” to pressure at MXON then you are clueless. He didn’t want to race initially because his fitness wasn’t there. He was not at 100% and he STILL stomped Herlings. Gaiser was one round from being back to back MXGP champion so clearly he’s one of the fastest guys on the planet. No shame in going 2-2 against that guy in Eli’s current state.

And yet he has many times had the fastest laps out of anyone there. Did it on the Honda, kawasaki. When he was on Honda and had to come from like 14th he decimated the field on lap times. Just wasn't enough to get up front that year.
