I don't understand why some people have such a bad view of this car. I've got an black 08 SXT (bought brand new) and have had NO problems with it. It's a very pretty car. Obviously it's not the fastest, but it is quick and I love driving it! Even though it's a few years old and I'm starting to see more of them, I still get compliments on it, and it still turns heads every now and then. I recommend it.

I own the SE model and peoples' heads still turn when I drive by. The stock stereo sounds great and I love the 4 can soda cooler in the dash. I can fill the tank to the top and get 300 to 330 miles to empty driving in the city. I think its a great car, who needs all that gas guzzling giant engines when all you need is something that gets great gas mileage. It would be nice to see dodge build a hybrid in a mid-size vehicle. I respect all people who own imports and domestic vehicles. GOD BLESS YOU

I like the design. It's nice to see a car company that tries to look different and not like a bubble or a refrigerator. Chargers are sweet... it was smart to model the avenger after the charger's lines.

I just drove a 2011 version with the new V6. The car might look like the earlier model, but otherwise, it's totally different. Handles well, nice interior, and the V6 is fantastic. With leather, the V6, and a sunroof, the car listed at $25,000, which I thought was a little high, but maybe the price will come down toward the end of the model year.

Watch the intake manifold and throttle body on these cars. Especially used ones. It's a $1700 repair job in auto stores. Find a good mechanic and order the parts online. Saved me $1000.

I bought mine new in 2008. I have replaced the entire suspension three times and cannot keep water out of my trunk. I had to JB Weld an incomplete joint above my passenger door to keep rain from flooding the interior floor panel. In my experience, this car is very low quality for the price. I am disappointed, but am stuck in the car because the resale value is so low.

+Tamara G I had the same problem. My tip: Remove the rubbers from the trunk lid, so the water can come out. My garage said the water came through the stoplight in the middle of the trunk lid. so they caulked it with silicone. Since then I never again had water in the trunk.

Sir Lyonel Cole Thanks for commenting. I tried caulking the brake light too, but that didn't fix my problem. I traced it to the rear corner panels. The body welds are incomplete where the panels meet and I had to caulk them.

Same here water constant in the boot and had the manifold throttle body fault also expensive to run poor mpg and stuck with it because of low value trade in.

My avenger is the exact same in this, it's a piece of shit. I have 120,000 miles and I bought it with 94,000 it's awful. Terrible MPG, water in trunk, frozen touchscreen radio, have had everything replaced under the hood except the motor and I am still getting a cylinder misfire and not one mechanic can find the issue including the dodge technicians. I am replacing it with a Kia Forte koup and it'll be so much nicer

Im looking into buying a car under $30,000, and looked at the mitsubitshi lancer, mazda 3, honda civic, honda fit, and this dodge avenger R/T. The one thing that catches my eye with this car, is that it has a huge engine compared to all these cars, they mostly have 2.0 L 4 cylinder engines that pump out under 200 HP, but this thing has a 3.5L 235 HP V6. but those imports are known really well on their reliablity.

I have been looking at Avengers for a few weeks now and am thinking of buying one. The only issue is in England we only get the 2.0 & 2.4 SXT the SXT comes fully loaded but it is not that quick with a 0-60 in over 10 secs At the moment i drive a 06 MT ZT turbo about the same size but will do 0-60 in under 8 ses . But the Dodge looks good with loads of spec.

i rented this car for a while and i fell in love with it. its a smooth ride and the interior is somewhat classy. overall its a nice ride, the only downside is the power, but hey it was only an SE. im about to purchase an R/T in a few weeks.

what is a safe way to install the new battery without getting shock to death because as you know the positive wire is hard to keep out of the way of the negative wire. When I was removing the old battery the positive wire accidentally touch the negative wire and a small spark came out so should i disconnect something up top? please help me before I get electrocuted. lol

The sound system is amazing. I'm not sure about the stock system but the boston sound is incredible. It is crystal clear, i love it! Awwcrap1 has no idea what he is talking about... Trust me, it is a great car!

Chevy Malibu & Ford Fusion are both much better built, much nicer looking, & much more refined than this piece of shit Dodge. Except for the Charger & Challenger, Dodge engines are years behind in refinement when compared to Chevy & Ford. Dodge's 3.5 liter V6 is outdated, no wonder why the Avenger put Dodge into bankruptcy. I'm a domestic car lover, but the Avenger doesn't stand against Nissan Altima in terms of build.
