Every other diesel truck here in Texas is Deleted, no problems. My 2008 6.4 liter has 267,000 and sounds smooth.

Now along with that I have a 08 ford f250 6.4 diesel supercab wasn't manufactured with a def system and it has a egr delete I have a slight ticking sound underneath my engine fuel cooler would that be a bad rocker?

I removed the passenger side valve cover = right side.. valve cover 🫣🤔and i saw everything pretty duty oily black kind of grease any thoughts 🫡🫡.?

Alotnof the valve noise is occurs when the tips on the rocker arms wear out. Another issue arises from Navistars stupid decision (intentionally) to NOT use bronze guides and insted go steel on steel in the valve guides as well at the small ends of the connecting rods.

happysawfish it ended up being a crack piston ring. It gouged the cylinder. Had to buy new engine. $15k out the door.

That's what I spent on a new rebuilt new everything 15k how redickulus my other body would have put new piston in it 2k and had running in 3 days but no 3 months and 15 k what bull shit

That was my issue too. Put in 5w40 synthetic,l thinking that would help but that just caused valve to float an took out a push rod.

The oil flows down top of rocker arms to the tips like it should. Upgraded rockers on later models.

HI Brian, it was a cracked piston ring.. cylinder was scored pretty bad... tips were worn a little.. new short block.. and new rocker assemblies.. 15k hit to the wallet..

Were you getting a lot of blow-by with the cracked ring? Burning any oil or were you smoking a lot? I'm asking because I'm getting a similar tick. But low blow-by and no more smoke than usual.

Adrian Arriaza it had some blowby, temps were normal when it failed. constant regen and oil delution. no tuner. very short trips and constant regens killed this engine. i bought spartan tuner. dpf delete and egr delete. running stock hp tune only. man this is what it should be like now. amazing without all the emissions crap!

Delfino Cornejo thanks man, so my 2010 apparently has a dealer add on remote starter, I say that because is not an aftermarket key remote. Anyways, when I did my EGR delete I obviously disconnected my batteries, and since I can't use the remote start. When I try to use it, it runs through it's usual cycle but then the alarm goes off. If I put the key in the ignition, without turning it on, I can press the remote and it starts. So that makes me think it has something to do with the anti theft system. Any ideas?

Juan Lopez does the remote start engage the starter at all? if not there must be fault. id check hood open sensor first

Delfino Cornejo yes, it tries to start, pump starts like it did before but the alarm starts going off right when is supposed to crank.

brian boldi the truck has been Out of warranty for a while it’s a 2008 model. The diesel mechanics at this dealership also have tuners in their trucks in all the emissions deleted.

Putting a remote start option on a diesel engine is like putting a turbocharger on a Volkswagen Bug from the 60s. You're just going to run into a Fubar situation. If you have no idea what that acronym is short for try fouled up Beyond absolute recognition. I had diesel. I tend to say it is f up Beyond all repair
