Wow! He should have won by about 50, this reminds me of last years Travers, when Grasshopper got brave against Street Sense.

First off let me make it clear,I'm not convinced BB is the greatest of all time, what I do know is he impressed me with what he did. He had for the first time a fight with another horse,Coal Play ran a HUGE race(any horse would have had to run hard),and BB dug down deep and showed he would fight for a win. That is WAY MORE impressive than winning easy by 5. They went a mile in 1:35 1/5,and finished in 1:48 1/5. If they had went 1:50I'd be concerned, but 1:48 1/5 is a damn good time, wake up!!!!

This was not a bad come back win at all. BB hadn't had anything closely resembling a challenge since the Derby. He coasted to his Preakness win, and was pulled up after running a mile at the Belmont. In this race, he came from off the pace and was running hard at the end. You hate to call a million dollar race a tightener, but that's what it was. His next race at Monmouth will be too, (though it wont help if no one makes him run). Anyway, his connections are pointing to the BC, Curlin or not.

Oh and chris, I agree, if the EVER meet I really will have a hard time thinking big brown can beat him. Curlin has run VERY well and also run clean. Big brown has only just come off the roids and this is the result. It is a slight regresssion but thats how a horserace is won.

Yes! My faith in Big Brown was justified. I knew he wouldn't let me down today. It just goes to show that you don't give up on a horse over one race. I'm so happy to see him vindicated. I hope that Dutrow has been cured of shooting his mouth off. Even the best horses have bad days. There is no sure thing in thoroughbred racing. Big Brown has proven that the Belmont was just a bad day for him.

I'm happy for the horse, but I hate the trainer. He had a great drive there, kudos also to Coal Play, great fight.

If Big Brown wasn't on steroids (training drugs) then he would have come 2nd in that race. Beaten...

I also think Big Brown beat a less than stellar field Sunday. I'm happy the horse is sound but don't feel his performance was something the trainer and owners are that excited about. I thnk this just upped his stud fees. Doubt he could win against better clas of horse'e at Breeder's Crown.

Coal play is an allowance horse with a good day, and our derby horse has to be ridden out hard to pass him? Im glad he won the race but he sure doesnt look like the 50 mil thats gonna be paid for him. Since coming off the roids he doesnt appear to be the phenom he was spoken to be. Good horse, not great horse.
