Yeah, I thought about that but I still wasn’t 100% sure what the noise was so I didn’t run it again just in case I hurt the motor.

Clean Ass 08'..I upgraded to a Brock's clutch mod 10yrs ago using red loctite (blue loctite strength dosen't hold over time for that specified area) to avoid that potential problem. An low Torque impact gun will break it free if need be for removal. But 20k miles later still no problem...dont forget to change your oil to avoid any metal shavings circulating thru you motor.

Question: Was the noise mainly present when you engaged the clutch? My 09 is making a hitting noise when I engage my clutch. This seems logical based on the sound im hearing.

No, it was fine when I rode it a week prior to the noise. I wanted to ride again and I heard the noise as soon as I fired it up in neutral. I immediately shut it off and did not even try to engage the clutch.

Why did you only hand tight the 3 studs ? Yet you torqued the 6 others , recipe for a disaster in the near future

Afaik you have to glue the Stud-Bolts but not the Screws.

So the bolt actually did back out then? I’m getting a loud noise too but all the bolts were tight there...

Cool, I’ve owned a couple gen 1 busas myself. My bike has been lowered, double bubble windscreen, fender eliminated, custom kickstand, chrome rims, full brocks exhaust, shorai battery and power commander.

I personally prefer the gen 2. I like the styling and I believe they have a bit more power.

I bought it at Sears many years ago. The problem is most of the common new torque wrenches don't go low enough for 7 ft lbs. You can google 5 ft lb torque wrench or search Amazon and you can find them that way.
