I personally would just use the dipstick hole,as it is big enough and shouldnt be any problems, That is what i have always done for 20 years as a rebuilder and a service tech ty

If it doesnt open and you already drainedc DONT WORRY, just fill it through the dipstick!

What about the transmission filter?? It’s right next to that fill plug. You get to it by removing the battery tray. It’s the most neglected part of this service.

That transmission has 2 filters one is internal that one is replaced when the transmission is rebuilt the other filter is in line canister filter is on the outside that one is very important to replace.

Yes it does! There is another video of the 08 Accord showing it under the battery tray. It’s held on by a 17mm bolt and 3 smaller 10mm bolts.

You need to replace the transmission filter also that way will be a lot cleaner. It costs 40 dlls at the dealer or30 at the auto parts. It’s very important to do it as well.

This accord does not have a filter. You need to actually change the fluid 2-3 times to clean it properly. Also, he should have used the newer updated ATF. This transmission is known to have issues for the above reasons.

Can someone please tellllll me if this exact model has an external filter????? There is NO outside black canister with two lines like allll the other videos show!!! Also has anyone had a bad shift solenoid i cant find that either the transmission has 3 external solenoids i cant determine which one is the B shift solenoid going crazy here i would really appreciate some advice!!

just did 1st change after 160k km, suppose to be after 100k on this engine according to service manual. hope nothing will go wrong as i heard from many ppl their ttransmission failed soon after fluid change if hasnt been done on time

It’s the stupid ass vcm that Honda decided to add to this engine, I recommend getting a vcmuzzler or vcmtuner to turn off the ecomode(vcm) which causes misfire and a load of other issues on this car.

@@cameron5454 that’s crazy bro I have a 2010 VCM V6 coupe auto and it’s smooth it just has a bad lifter tick and I need to do the maintenance adjustment other than that I have clogged cats but the PV6 Cat delete a J-pipe should solve that ;) debating making a video or not

@@joshuacuster4859 your lifter tick is probably just the excess play on the rocker arm bridge. Loosen and retorque the bolts to spec in sequence and then check your valve clearances and you should be good. There's a full write-up on engine builder. com
