Exact same break with the mirror on my '05! Exact same rationale for swapping the housing! Exact same confusion about doing the deed! Thanks, Scott, for figuring out this repair AND posting the procedure in clarion detail!

Thanks for this video. Just replaced the mirror portion of my rear view in my 2006 Odyssey. Your video gave me the courage to keep pulling!! Thanks again!!

It worked like a charm. Great instructions. One pointer: If you are having trouble removing the pins from the connector, try depressing the little clips from the other side.

From your video I learned how to snap out a broken mirror, nothing else wrong...and replace it with a $7 mirror found online. Thanks.

Thank you for taking the time to make this video. Without it, I would have been lost. After a mishap in the garage, the mirror housing on our 2006 Odyssey got cracked. Got one off Ebay for $25. I didn't know I would have to disconstruct the mirror to fix. However, with your tips, everything is back together and working. Getting the pins out of the connector was the worst part.

I am delighted to find this video as I have a 2007 Accord with the same issue,however all the available You Tube videos only show mirrors with the skull cap and not the full casing like this.I too have managed to source a used unit but as in your case is the wrong colour casing,and it only cost me £25 instead of nearly £200 from my Honda dealer.Going into this job much more confident now,many thanks.

4:07 Don’t need to remove the pins. Right behind the screw ears on the bracket are slots to remove the internal pin holder. Just slip those jewelers screwdrivers into the slots then push and wiggle until the pieces separate. Turn the pin holder to line up in the hole and it’ll slip right out.

Thank you Scott. Great videos (part 1 % 2). Followed everything on the videos. I had the same problem with my '08 EXL Odyssey with Scott's including the "spider" in it. It only costs me $40+ from Amazon.

Thanks for making this video. Think I’ll sell the Honda as is and let them deal with it, too complicated for me.

LOOOL. I could understand u. I think he made it a little bit complicated. Though, u could find one on eBay for less than $40 and just plug it instead of all that work he did:)

@@abdullahalbuali1807 color matched, or black?
@abdullahalbuali18074 жыл бұрын
@@fotopdo Mine is black, so I found one on ebay that has the same color , and yes it matched and since it is used it has some scratches but who cares it worked just fine. if the only is the mirror itself , u could order only the mirror.

Just bought one for my 2007 Odyssey for $37 on Amazon...plugged it in, three tiny bolts and done

This is most likely what is wrong with my mirror. Just bought an 07 and the passenger mirror hangs slightly. Very good job on the video, I will definitely refer to it when tackling my mirror.

As an fyi, the side viewer mirror assembly is the same for 2005-2007 Odysseys. They all have the same internals in them. I also found that some OEM models do not have the same internals. I ended up just getting one at a junkyard.

FYI - You could have replaced your mirror assembly (heated) with a bran new one from 1-A Auto for $45 shipped. I comes in black. I just received mine for my 2010 Odyssey and it fits perfect

I have an 08 Odyssey Touring and my mirror has no clip on the back like yours does. It has the white "plug" but the wire just rides through it, doesn't plug into it. The harness clips into the plug behind the door panel and the only connection in inside the back of the mirror. Every replacement has the plug on the back and not the single harness.

Great video Scott. I had the same issue on my 09 Odyssey and was quoted $480 Canadian for a new painted mirror. I was able to buy an unpainted one for $90 online (www.thewrenchmonkey.ca) and swap out the needed parts. Worked great and I couldn't have done it without your video.

I am in the middle of the video trying to release the pins from connector. Frustrated. Any tips or help
@Phyoomz4 жыл бұрын
Yeah (I just did this today) you're gonna wanna stick your pin or screwdriver, whatever it is you're using in the T shaped space in front of the pin and then lean it towards the pin, while at the same time, pulling the wire below. I hope that makes sense.
