whats up!! 2008 kia sportage owners!!! i made this how to video for you if youre replacing your door handle for your rear drivers side!!!!
ive been making these how tos and diy videos for all the 2008 kia sportage and 2007 kia spectra owners!! because when i needed it i couldnt find any videos!!!
so i told myself i wanna make them so i can help others!!!

Is that handle the same as the front passenger door. My wife ordered the wrong one. I do realize I will have to re-use the small front piece that the screw goes thru. THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP!

Forget removing the window bracket. I drilled a hole through the plastic cover over the latched mechanism. Saved probably an hour of work atleast and not risking messing up window tracks. Gives you access to the bolt you can’t get to.

I cannot get that rear screw on the smaller piece off very frustrating any suggestions without having to remove window parts actuator?

what i did was hand tighten it but i pulled open the handle to the cap part can sink in together with handle.. also you can use long nose plyers! but if anything...got to go hard and take the whole door actuator off... for a proper replacement good luck lmk how it goes!

Doing a 2006 Sportage, both sides. Unfortunately, one door has child locks in and can't open from inside. Not sure how I'm going to get to the door panels and such without opening it. Guess I'll try from the outside to open the door. Pretty weak part of the Kia. They break on various models.

When I removed the old broken handle, I pulled the mechanism (hanging metal plate which is into the right hole outside) using the pliers and the door opened even with child locks on.

I have had 2006 Sportage rear door exterior handle break with child lock on, just used some stiff wire from outside to pull and operate it, door opened ok so I could get door panel off and replace handle.
