I have the E320 2008 Bluetec. same engine. did the fuel filter and filters as a result of watching you. It was easy to follow. I had a lot if trouble with the right side filter. took me 45 minutes to get the right air box off. The connecting air intake was stuck. It was a real battle. Thanks again.

To pull the water sensor out (without prying on the tabs) I used a bolt with the same thread size as the plastic vent that screws in the middle. (Metric M10.) I twisted the bolt in a good way and it gave me better/safer grip to pull out that sensor. It also gave me a good base to tap the sensor back into the new filter.

Man, your video was very helpful. Today I was to change the fuel hose from pump to filter on my 2008 E320 Bluetec and notice that there was a leak at the base of the water sensor. I ended up not changing the fuel hose until buy a new filter and do everything in one shot. I am having a hard time figuring up an easy way to clean out the way the air intake pipe to the turbo. That pipe has to be removed in order to replace the fuel line. About your video for the filter it was very informative. Thanks for posting.

Oil comes from the right valve cover oil control valve. Some oil is acceptable, however your example seemed a bit much. Replace the valve (it's a glorified PCV valve) there is an updated version comes with the hose clamped on to prevent seepage. Play in the turbine wheel is normal too. Those turbid just have a lot of slack in them. Even when new. Anyway good vid

That 2-1 harsh shift is due to the transmission program no adapted to the worn in clutch packs "ie break in", the dealer has an update using a CD and SDS to reflash the TCU to adapt to the post-break in period of the clutch packs, the problem is you have to nag the dealers to oblivion for them to do it.

I have ~50k miles. I took it to the dealership under warranty and was told it was "normal" by their master technician and that it was designed to prolong the life of the clutches that lock up the torque converter. I mentioned wear and tear from driveline shock and was ignored. Good luck.

That oil leak is coming from the Crank case oil vapor, according to MB they say is normal. However some has modified it to vent out the vapor into the air and catch the oil in a canister and dump it every oil change.

A little play side to side is normal as long as the blades aren't touching the housing.. play that's in and out isnt normal and should get rebuilt.

Hi I have a issue with my 2007 320d amg, if ya can help, went to over take and seems it won't go up the gears quick enough the lost power, next day it would not go into drive until third attempt !!!!

I suppouse your car is in limp mode to protect the engine. Did your engine sort of "cough" just before it happend? the same happend to my engine a couple of times but it goes away after stopping the car and starting again. My worries are why the engine sort of stalls-i suspect the turbo and overrevving. wastegate/or VGR problems. Did you solve the problem?

I just bought a used 08 320, the filter is new but leaking, is there a way to get it to stop without removal? Will it need to be replaced? Unsure where exactly it is leaking from.

If its leaking from fuel line connections re crimp the clamps or replace. If its leaking from the bleeder likely the "o" ring was not replaced and will need to be. Should not have to remove. Good luck !
