Shit my first car was an 03 w/ 3.5 and I would eat fox body mustangs ALIVE ... Shit was hilarious 🤣 people fail to realize it's got almost 300hp and only weighs like 3k if that. Plus it's FWD so less power loss through the drivetrain. As long as you can put it down without blowing the front tires off they are quick as shit for a cheap family sedan....very underrated.

I have a 2009 Altima 2.5s sedan with a MANUAL 6spd and a genuine nismo lip/areo kit. I bought dirt cheap with 55k miles since no one wanted a manual Altima. Im currently close to 150k miles and it's been one of the best cars I've ever owned. The tank range (600 miles fwy) is amazing. It's also surprisingly quick for what it is. I recall car and driver rates them in the low 15s 1/4 & 7s 0-60mph, which is just as quick as any modem accord or Camry base (comparable trim as the 2.5s).

That sure sounds like a neat car to own. I feel like some folks would be better off spending the time to learn driving with a manual transmission rather than spending the work time paying for a CVT replacement. But some people definitely can't drive manual due to health issues that affect their back/arm/leg

After years of waiting to find one close enough to me I can finally call myself the proud owner of a 6 speed Altima. My grandmother owned one when I was a child and was the first car I ever drove but that one was an automatic. I later became a car enthusiast and later taught myself how to drive stick. Upon learning that the 4th generation Altima had the option for a manual transmission it became my dream car. Its very fun to drive but like you said the clutch does take some getting used to.

Hi! Thank you for the great feedback. Actually, RaceBox gives the true standstill times. Dragy doesn't subtract the 1ft for the 0-60, but does subtract it in the 1/8 and 1/4 mile times, hence why Racebox runs are 0.3s more in those disciplines.

And we took to alot long drives my dad bought it in 2010 sold it in 2021 and boy did my DROVE that thing and it handled it like it was nothing but now he has lexus yet i still find myself thinking about the altima😂. It's interesting that automatic transmission is so different from manual transmission. I wonder why it wasn't more popular to have an automatic manual transmission that automatically handles the shifts but has the responsiveness of a manual. (And overall longer life) They have that now , is it called a dsg transmission? But they aren't all that reliable to my knowledge.

Both the 3.5SE and 2.5S from 07-12 share the same 6 speed manual transmission. The only real difference between the two is the bell housing and maybe the 1st gear and final drive ratio. The Sentra Spec-V of the same years also use the same transmission but has a limited slip differential.
