That fumble on Penn State first drive was clearly and Iowa TD. Even in 2008 480p you can see that.

I thought the PI on Scirotto (7) during the game winning drive was a bad call and should not have been called. He was going for the ball. We will never know if Iowa would still have gotten into FG range since it would have been 4th down but I thought that PI was a bad call. Announcers said he went through the receiver but he shows clearly that he is playing the ball.

@@jamesh6846 It doesn't matter if he got there early. To BE defensive pass interference, a DB must be "obviously" (from the rule book) be trying to "impede" the receiver from getting the ball. Scirotto is CLEARLY going for the ball, with the contact only happening incidentally, so, this call was wrong. And he arguably didn't get there "early" anyway. Look, I love Ricky "love it or leave it" Stanzi but that was a desperate throw and the refs bailed him out with a horrible misapplication of PI.

@@jamesh6846 And moreover, watch the bottom PSU defensive end, #48, Mo Evans. He runs a stunt on this play and gets held and drug down by the Iowa interior line. So, at most, this play should have been offsetting penalties. Really, the only penalty should have been holding on Iowa.

@@aaronrider4051 fact is even if the defense is going for the ball they can not go through the receiver to do it, and your "holding" call is a joke, ever hear of a pancake block?

@@jamesh6846 So wrong. Fact is that the DB did not go through the receiver. The receiver, who was looking for the ball, backed into the DB, who was also looking for the ball. That isn't PI on EITHER player. Secondly, that isn't a pancake block. The guard does not wind up on top of him (pancaked), and he has his arm wrapped around the jersey (which is holding).
