2008 Volkswagen Beetle-Passenger Window Inop. Part 2- The Repair

Finishing up this 2008 VW Beetle with part 2 showing the repair, the complaint was the passenger window is inoperative, if you haven't watched part 1 yet I suggest you watch that one first, I hope you guys enjoy this video and thanks for watching.

Bravo for not using side cutters to strip the wire and crimp the butt splices. Using the proper tools make all the difference. The heat shrink butt connectors are also a good choice (and you even used a proper heat gun!!!). Keeping the spliced-in wire long enough to avoid the door jam area (area where is flexes), like you have done, is also a must. You can offset the splice points to keep from having a bulge from multiple butt connectors in a harness. A zip tie, around the harness, close to the butt splice can be used to support it and keep it from flopping around and breaking the wire. Then wrap with electrical tape. I would do these two steps even if I had soldered in the splice as the solder connection is brittle and will break if you let it flop around. Good job.

Niced fixed... Hate doing this repair as you know fords have the same issue with broken wires at door jam and no space to work..
