I just repaired the red and black wire on the ecu wire harness. The code I was getting was with tcm communication po864. Same symptoms fans ran at key on and no cel on dash. Cut the harness back and found the broken wire right where you showed it. Runs like new. Thanks a million !!! 2008 jetta 2.5 193000 miles

Did you test this with car on or off? Tested the same plug only get ground when car is off. The third positive turns to into a ground when car is off.

Dealership techs are the worst. They all think their tablet can solve world hunger if there were somewhere to plug it into. If you want to know whether it works or not, a simple OBD2 reader will tell you fuel rail pressure. Unplug it, if it runs smoother, that's your issue.

Could you just use a jump Wire, positive to signal terminal? And leave it on permanent ?

Found the same harness area ( with your help!!) in the wife's 07 Jetta, kind of a moisture trap in the harness under the cowl. Thanks!!

FYI there was no previos repair for me to find only the green crusty trail to the busted wire.

Great video! I’m running into the same P2711 code on my 2011 CC. The vehicle seems to go into all gears until it doesn’t. It will snap out of gear mid drive and have the D flash on the HUD. By turning off the vehicle and starting it back on it will go back into gear as if nothing happened. After a while it will do the same thing again. Any suggestions on how to go about diagnosing the issue? Thanks!

I have a 2007 VW Passat 2.0T - FSI engine & the car has 2 fuel pumps , It has the Low Pressure fuel pump in the gas tank & There is a High Pressure fuel pump up at the engine , The problem I'm having is when I hook up the fuel pressure gauge & Start up at the engine for the Low pressure fuel pump the gauge will go crazy , The PSI will stay around 60 to 80 PSI but the pressure gauge needle jumps back and forth very rapidly where I can't almost see it / The needle moves so fast between 60 & 80 PSI , Anyone ever seen anything like that before ? And what could be cause it ?
@PositiveLeadDiagnostics2 ай бұрын
That is normal, the gauge bounces around because the high side dumps back into the low side system while it’s being regulated

From the wiring diagram, it wasn't specified what is what, how were you able to tell which is which, the ref voltage, ground and signal?

Great video,,guided me on what to look for, saved tons of time and money, in my case the 12v red wire was broken in the passenger side door hinge boot. Fished a new piece of wire from the side panel behind the glove box thru the boot and wire nut it. Left the old wire in the motor connector. Just cut it 8 in away from the connector. Wire nuts and tape both ends. Works.

I have this issue right now, no transmission noise or clunking but I get the R flashing with no movement when I step on gas and flashing D only seems to run on 1-2 gears. When I shut the car off for a minute it’s ok but my mechanic says I need a rebuilt tranny which when you include labor is about 6-7k 🚬 so will go to a transmission specialist shop and get the mechatronic unit and clutches replaced and see if that helps it and for how long.
@oomgloff2Ай бұрын
i had no clunking but after warming up if shifted from P to N or D to P it would flash and lockout. after much troubleshooting and checking with VCDS software only thing i could determine was that there was oil on my electrical plug going into the transmission controller Mechatronic. means the controller got saturated with oil and it seeped up into the breather hole on the round plug. got a used trans and it grenaded after 200 miles. now im swapping the mechatronic into the old trans and using this vid to setup new 180$ raybestos clutch discs in the trans to save money. Im a pro at removing this damn transmission now

Do you think it would be possible to bypass the ground on the o2 sensor and send the o2 sensor ground to another ground point under the car? Or would the computer need to be in the [ground] loop?

Basically, you should check your spark plugs, see which one has coolant residue and that should indicate which cylinder.

The receiver drier is for sure saturated with moisture, you will never get all of the moisture you just induced out of there. Nitrogen is your friend when checking ac leaks.
