Great review except any mention of the reliability. My sister-in-law bought her 2009 Fit Sport because she was obese and could easily get in and out of the driver's seat. She has passed on and my daughter now drives it and treats it like a rented mule. It holds an amazing amount of cargo, gets great gas mileage and burns no oil. The servicing of valve adjustment and replacing water pump, etc., is more difficult than the previous generation but it is super reliable. The only thing that has broken so far is the AC system which died at 125K miles. The replacement compressor and receiver from Auto Zone with lifetime warranty was about half the price of OEM parts (Why replace it with the same thing that broke? At least this time there is a lifetime warranty.) This is a mini-utility vehicle for hauling people, animals (see the commercial with the llama in the back seat floor), and big stuff. No, it isn't plush but it will get you there at a very low cost.

@Wrangler7559 I just got mine 2 months ago, the fit and finish is absolutely stellar. Blows away any of the toyota's I've driven. They must have really stepped it up for the small face-lift in 2013. Not a single gap, or rough edge in sight. As for road noise, it is pretty bad. Step up from my 93' accord, but retaliative to modern bigger cars, bad.

I've had my Honda Fit for 7 years. I like it just as much now as I did when I first got it. The only things that have been a problem is had to get a new battery in the 3nd summer. ( the guy in the maintenance department told me that the harsh Oklahoma summers are real bad on car batteries) Then last year I bought a new set of tires. Aside from gasoline, oil changes & such and tire rotation, this is all that my Honda Fit has needed in seven years. I have owned, I believe, 12 cars in my lifetime. (most of them were not new, and I have never owned a Honda before.) But my Honda Fit is the best car I have ever had-as far as original cost, gas mileage, performance, upkeep, reliability, maneuverability, how much stuff (people) I can haul. It is just a really neat little car. And I really like & enjoy my 2010 Honda Fit. The only thing I would like to have more, is a 2018 Honda Fit!!!!

Yeah my 2010 sport honda fit has survived 8 brutal Vegas summers since we first got it, although the AC began to blow warm, which we repaired. Other than oil changes, tire rotations, and my own custom installed black rims, it has lasted very well with 103k+ miles on it.

I agree about the vertical adjustments in the driver's seat. I'm a short person (about five foot one) so when I drive, I like having the seat a little higher up so I can see better. My mom's '08 Camry has a vertical adjustment to it, which I like. I've found that it's hard trying to find a car with a vertical adjustment.

falaqdad15 The Fit does have a harsh ride. Its due to the rear suspension, The semi-independent twist-beam. But the entire rear axle acts as a sway-bar, so the handling in corners is great.

Great detailed review. Though isn't there an option for a center armrest for additional storage?
@MyLifeThai3712 жыл бұрын
I found the center console with armrest new on e-bay for the Honda Fit for $44. "Rotatable Storage Box Armrest Center Console For Honda Fit Jazz 2009-2013 12 11" Brand: XUKEY. Made in California.

I have had my Honda fit for about a year now, and the only thing that bothers me about this car is the hard plastic that shoes some small gaps. Oh, I also don't like the road noise that this car has, could use more sound absorbing material to absorb that road noise. I would and have recommended this car to my friends, it's not a bad car... And no I have never been had troubles with wind or passing semis blowing me around..
@w7class5 жыл бұрын
Yes, but you must consider many models of the category around 2010 also featured similar riding characteristics, it's physical a 2018 or 2019 car to have a reduced road noise

I have had two Honda Fits. On both of them: 1. sub par air conditioning. It's awful. And when you've driven the car for a while, say over 100 miles, the AC just about dies, even if you're not someplace particularly warm. 2. If you open the windows while driving it makes this god awful noise , kind of like a flapping noise that is deafening. I can't even describe it but I haven't heard that on any other car. This is not normal "car noises" that all cars make when driving. 3. In no configuration do the seats lie flat. They always tilt. This is worse in the refresh mode. Why didn't they make this so the rear seats and front seats could be put together to make one FLAT surface, I will never understand. There is no way to be "refreshed" in refresh mode since you can't even lay your head back. What I love about the Fit is the roomy seats, amazing cup holders everywhere you look, Honda sound system, VERY reliable car that doesn't need a lot of repairs to date, great head room for us tall people, ability to hold a wheelchair (which I have never seen discussed), and good value for the money.

Fiesta has a higher quality interior but less room. Fit has a harsher ride. Fiesta also has a rock solid ride, but I liked its feel more. Where there are hard plastics, I preferred the Fiesta. Price wise, I think the Fit probably wins. I think I'd buy still buy the Fiesta though.

A friend of mine recently told me that while driving his fit in a rainstorm a gust of wind caused the car to aeroplane sideways across two lanes of freeway. Also, he notes that long highway drives give him headaches and stiff shoulders because of difficulty in holding the car straight when passed by large semis or driving over old, pot-holed highway that "throws" the car off-course . . . This could get annoying . . .

The only problem I had with the Fit was it was loud loud loud at highway speeds. On my test drive, I had hardly broken 55MPH and I already had to raise my voice to talk to the passenger. People that like driving around blasting their stereo to drown out road noise or just don't care might be fine with this car, but for me it was a deal breaker. Shame, because it's otherwise a neat car with great design.

Is there even a place for eyeglasses on the ceiling? Interior looks about as quality as Toyota, which deter me from getting the Rav4 though a fun vehicle to drive. (Ended up with a Korean model with the smaller engine they offered) This review showing the interior really turned me off of the Fit. I want something that looks a little more than basic entry level. Not much in the way of styling but Honda is know as Honduh for a reason, though getting better with Korean vehicle out ranking them

the New Honda Fit has been somewhat refined. For 2013, it has more sound insulation, and nicer color contrast inside. Too bad the NEW Nissan Versa has gone the opposite way. for '13, the new Versa has a noiser less powerfull (and not very reliable) engine, the seats are not made of cheap shoddy fabric, the inside is cramped, and the once standard stereo is now a $200 option. Nissan completely dropped the ball on the new Versa, ruined a once great small car. So, I'll be getting a Honda instead!

The fit is loud? is a city car and very light... 2400 lbs, much confort and grip is very difficult. The fiesta is more for highway, and for the very long gear ratios (very long at least in my country) and much more small and not so reliable, but have a better safety-confort equipment. I have the honda 1gen MT for the city is unbeatable. For highway well is good for me, but strangely it feels better at 88-90 mph. Hilarious, but in the VW 1.4 of my father have the same thing.
